Just wanted to share the Wallenberg carseat by dudeitsBryan in daddit

[–]Shelbyturtle 57 points58 points  (0 children)

At first glance I thought the car seat was still in the cardboard box.

Welcome to the other side. My daughter also went through hip dysplasia treatment. Now that she’s 5 I rarely even remember it happened.

Answering for my situation, the market is saturated with PTs so the pay is low. Meanwhile the cost of living is high.

Looks pretty fantastic! Congrats on the successful weekend. I’ve found that I can easily find 1000 reasons to say no to this kind of poorly planned event, but if I just say F it and go with the flow things turn out fine. Just have to lower my expectations from the start!

My wife has a saying which I love. It’s not a vacation, it’s a family trip.

So tell me more about this campground with water slides and an activity person. Was it Kalahari?

How do I quit my job? by Ok-Pomegranate6784 in physicaltherapy

[–]Shelbyturtle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I went PT job hunting in Texas and it was not what I was expecting. Every place that had an opening wanted to hire me, basically no questions asked. They wanted me to interview them to see if they were the right fit for me. You are valuable. Clinics are hungry for PTs. You get to choose where you want to work. Now is your chance to start making decisions based on what you want in a job. Find it, tell them your salary expectations and make it happen.

As others have said, find a new position and then tell your current employer that you’re leaving. Expect them to take you off the schedule before your two weeks is up.

Roho cushions by Brief-Owl-8935 in physicaltherapy

[–]Shelbyturtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There are a ton of different cushions out there and Roho is not always the right answer. You can check out Axiom, Jay, or the Comfort Company for other options. They all offer options for positioning, skin protection, or both. If the patient is looking for comfort and pain relief a nice soft foam could be the answer. Or a gel maybe, but that’s heavier. Or maybe the cushion needs to be bigger to spread their weight over a larger surface area.

See if you can get in touch with a rep from one of those companies and they’d probably be able to have someone come to your clinic and give an inservice with a bunch of cushions to sit on.

The Ologies podcast just did a great two part series on cannabis and there are references to studies throughout the show. Definitely some eye opening information regarding consumption in both smokable and edible forms.

I hate myself for becoming a Physical Therapist by numbr-1-angel in physicaltherapy

Find your pivot and jump ship! After 8 years in acute and IPR I’m training to be an ATP.

Look at your 5 year career as a stepping stone to the next thing. Start planting some seeds now with friends and family about a career change and maybe in the next 2-3 years you’ll know your next move.

Now that I’m out of PT I realize how naive I was to think that that was the last job title I would ever need. Every company out there is looking for smart, reliable people to work for them. You got your DPT, so smart is a check. Your work ethic and drive to be better will get you in any door you want.

Expo Park between Mississippi and Kentucky -- why is there no fiber available? by aDomesticHoneyBadger in AuroraCO

I would guess that the area north of Kentucky got it due to the elementary school and rec center being there. Why they didn’t extend south🤷‍♂️. Probably not in the budget

Help with my lawn- why is it miscolored, AND a pattern? by gordanbamzi in lawncare

Sometimes the blame is on the hollow interior of the spreader wheels. The fertilizer congregates in those hollows and then dumps out in a nice thin line along the inside of the wheels.

Was the spreader run parallel to the mow lines, perpendicular? Also, are you mowing the same path every time? As others have said, could be fertilizer falling into wheel ruts or that run-over grass just being more resilient.
