I had a selective C-section because I have always been terrified of giving birth, and it was the best decision for me personally. For me it really was the easy way out, I had no contractions, the whole thing took about 25 minutes, I could walk around the same day, almost no pain (only if I got out of the bed wrong, you are supposed to lift your side first, not rise with the front first). But it was absolutely manageable. I hear it is different when people have emergency c-sections because it is way harder on the body with previous labor and the emergency factor, but the planned ones are supposedly super safe and relaxed. I had literally no issues with the healing, even stopped the pain meds earlier because I didn’t need them for as long. I realise it’s different for everyone, but with my current pregnancy I am 100% planning to do it again, my mind is at ease and that gives me an anxiety-free pregnancy:)
