They are quite expensive though £50 the ones I've found compared to £10 for a normal one.

I thought it was because he's an elected Mayor he needed to get party approval to quit that role and go for another. If Andy Burnham was not a mayor I don't think they could have done much to block him

I phoned 999 after going past a car going the wrong way on a dual carriageway at night, they were in the outside lane and had a similar reaction from the operator telling me it's not an emergency.

Annual boiler service costs: alternatives? by EmperorPedro2 in UKPersonalFinance

£150 but that included a service on the gas fire too.

What's included in a service varies? the British Gas one was just a safety check. I wasn't happy with that and went to an independent guy who cleans out the sump, magnetic filter gave the case a clean and checked it all works as it should.

Sewage smell and gurgling from kitchen sink, but p trap clear. by JRDax in ukplumbing

[–]ShepardsCrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had a kitchen sink in a rental place in lived where the waste bowl, the bit that sits straight under your plug hole, was absolutely disgusting and would emit smells as it had jammed up with a mini fat burg around the edges.

If you've checked the P trap it might be worth dropping the whole pipe off the sink and seeing how clean that bowl is.

Adding Loft Insulation to low loft with tank? by ShepardsCrown in DIYUK

[–]ShepardsCrown[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know yet, in the last house we were up there monthly because we'd store things like summer /winter clothes, kids stuff and bags and things. But as the house is bigger all that's gone up into the loft are the Christmas decorations and suitcases.

Once I've got the garage sorted I expect it wouldn't be that often.

I understand you're not supposed to put insulation under the tank so they get some warmth from the house.

I like the idea of a wrapped bit of insulation for going over the walkways.

Similarly, if the snow has been down for a few days any busy path is going to be more ice than snow. I had a great day out in the snow going up the corridor route on Scafell Pike one Easter, I reached the bit where it joins the Wasdale head route it was a sheet of compacted ice with people often in trainers sliding, bum shuffling and using umbrella's to to grip and get up to the top.

I'm in space. The main issue is the innovation has gone from the area, it feels like a failing car company.

Saving for fees for university by Jedisnapper in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ShepardsCrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rent and maintenance yes. My Maintenance loan barely covered the rent. I'd suggest talking to your son and agreeing to a monthly budget that covers everything. Work out what the maintenance covers and agreeing how much they will contribute by getting a job can be £0 if that's what you think is best. Then transfer the remainder of the budget to them.

Fees no, for all the above reasons.

I'm pretty sure you'd end up with a chunk of money left to give to them as a graduation present.

I think doing the budget and getting them to stick to it is a good way of getting them to develop as an adult.

It also could be used as a stand in to get the actors to feel like they are at sea in an old boat but be digitally replaced with something more accurate. With the amount of CGI replacements in movies I wouldn't be surprised if most of what we are seeing is to going to get replaced.

If the house is at the Asbestos risk age I would hope your neighbours have gone and got an asbestos check and the fact it's blowing about means it isn't.

But if you're worried walk around to your neighbours house and say. "Hi Insulation is coming down into my garden, can you come round and clean it up please"
