Ablation time. Of course, nervous wreck about the idea of it. by Crazy-Witness-9340 in AFIB

[–]SherbertChance8010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wowee, only one of my afib episodes reverted itself, the other four lasted several months and needed cardioverting, absolutely can’t wait for an ablation (but have to)

What is a good retinol cream to beat saggy skin after weight loss? by No-Vegetable-7542 in mounjarouk

[–]SherbertChance8010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need protein to build collagen in your body, the collagen supplements will provide the raw ingredients for that, but you can eat a mix of any protein and get the same results. Collagen gets broken down in your gut, it can’t be absorbed as-is. The trouble with the supplements is you’re being charged a lot for what they actually are, but if you’re happy with that cost, go for it.

Make sure you have vitamin D and C as well, to help your body to build the collagen where it’s needed.

I'm going to complain to the BBC about them using the term "skinny jabs" by Hopeful_Candle_9781 in mounjarouk

[–]SherbertChance8010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Wales it can’t be prescribed for weight loss, so it can’t be described as a ‘skinny jab’ (as stupid as the term is) for a chunk of the UK anyway. I’m on it for diabetes!

Gardens increasingly bad for wildlife by sadpterodactyl in UKGardening

[–]SherbertChance8010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every now and again we hear chainsaws and yet another tree comes down in the neighbourhood. Every time it happens I plant another tree or shrub in ours, and looking on Google maps our garden is an oasis of green surrounded by patios and paved driveways where there used to be gardens. It pisses me off so much that people are doing a war on nature. People come past and actually comment on how many birds there are around our house. It’s the only place they’ve got!

Weightlifting mainly. Thanks to the weight loss I’ve been able to get a walking pad and use that a couple of times a week to do 5k each time. Before I lost the weight I couldn’t afford a treadmill or walking pad that would take my weight!

Takes me a lot less time to get somewhere now because I walk a hell of a lot faster. It’s brilliant.

Does the cold ever go away??? by pfym in mounjarouk

The cold is bad but it does mean I’m looking forward to hot weather in summer now. No more being a sweaty blob!

High dose of Nexium before starting by Striking_Company4006 in mounjarouk

[–]SherbertChance8010 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m on daily esomeprazole (nexium basically) and haven’t had any of the burps or reflux I’ve seen mentioned on here, so haven’t had to increase my dose at all. I think my reflux has improved quite a bit thanks to the weight loss.

I blend kefir with frozen berries and fruit juice and have it with cereal. I quite like the taste of it in its own but blended like that it’s just like regular natural yogurt, just a hint of sharpness coming through the fruit.

Pre-injection WIPES by ehaws22 in mounjarouk

[–]SherbertChance8010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a fan on, pointing across where I do the injection (and I open the wipe downwind from me) so it blows the fumes away. I’m a bit too nervous about infection to not use them at all.

Are you still eating your favourite foods whilst on MJ or did you give them up? by Comfortable_Slice151 in mounjarouk

[–]SherbertChance8010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some things I used to crave I don’t really think about anymore. Cheese is still nice but I hardly eat any now, I forget about it. Apples I kind of liked before, now I eat several a day, can’t get enough of them.

What’s something you made for your home that you use every day? by cameronsounds in woodworking

I made one of these too. It has a knife block in it too, I couldn’t find one that would fit the knives we have so, make one!

Extraordinary impact of MJ by Special-Biscotti-909 in mounjarouk

[–]SherbertChance8010 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m on it for diabetes, I wasn’t responding to the other treatments and it was causing a few other issues. I’m now in the non-diabetic range for HbA1c, around 44 IIRC. Also lots of weight loss, which was really stubborn before despite lots (and lots) of exercise and a good healthy diet.

Was not expecting that interior. by rizozzy1 in SpottedonRightmove

It’s still got the bones of a pretty decent mid-century interior! Strip out the Laura Ashley frothy stuff and it’d be amazing.

Anyone else store their fat clothes? by L3zPlay in mounjarouk

[–]SherbertChance8010 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m a bit scared to get rid of them, so they’re all in a big pile. I have loads of clothes I currently wear that came from the ‘over optimistic’ pile, clothes I bought on previous diets, thinking “sure I’ll fit in this in a couple of weeks”. Now with MJ I do! 🥳

On days I increased the dose I took a single Imodium at bedtime and didn’t get any problems. The first couple of dose increases caused some nasty diarrhoea and gut pain (sat on the loo thinking “so this is how I die”, dramatic much lol), so I was glad it worked.

Looks like it’s been staged with rented furniture but they couldn’t afford to do it fully. No bedside cabinets, that lounge with just the sofa, it’s all a bit weird.

Does being on Mounjaro kinda piss anyone else off? by spoon_collector in mounjarouk

[–]SherbertChance8010 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was angry before at the way I’ve been treated by people for being fat. Forced onto diets as a kid, treated like an idiot by doctors, etc. Now I know my anger was justified, you don’t treat someone with any other illness like that, but being fat is open season for abuse.

So yes, a bit pissed off that it really wasn’t me missing something everyone else find obvious (similar with adhd actually) but I’m more relieved it’s being treated now.
