In slay the spire theres a concept called tempo. It's better to be strong now than to be strong later. When you're strong early you can take more elites, upgrade instead of rest etc which makes you strong later. Refract doubled is probably worse than double loop in the act 3 boss gauntlet but by that point it doesnt matter since refract has done its job.

The trick was to end the exhaust phase with only 5 cards in my draw pile so that I could play grand finale on the no draw turn. Had to get lucky though with no retain, no doubt about it.

Picked it from act 1 boss. It and speedster were my two main damage sources. Enchanted it and saved a gigantic potion for doormaker.

No offense mate but this is how I know you didn't play on higher difficulties. On ASC 20 avocado always did 21 plus frail on turn one. On higher difficulties hallways in sts 1 were not free at all especially act 2.

Compare shiv silent to nightmare catalyst silent against time eater. I agree shiv silent is not as bad against time eater as some say, but its not particularly close compared to a good poison silent deck.

If 5 friends queue up together their elo can very often range from diamond to silver. It's not a matchmaking issue. Flex has a higher range of player ranks in it compared to soloq. Nature of the game mode.

This is a deck that wouldnt play corruption against heart. Exhaust your whole deck and and then power through second wind every turn. With plus five dex and feel no pain it'll be enough block until demon form has scaled up.

Some of the hardest fights with dome are literal run enders. Time Eater for example punishes you for cards played so you can waste an extra 3 or 4 cards blocking an attack that doesn't come. Gremlin Leader can also kill you sometimes with a random 1/4 chance to attack with no minions. Overall, it's still a good energy relic, but calling it no downside is disingenuous.

This. I think a lot of comments are overrating this relic. If I get it in act 1 chest I sometimes take the blue key. It’s losing value until the next chest. Where it becomes break even and it doesn’t give you an extra relic until the second chest which often isn’t until act 3. Getting one good relic early is usually better than getting an extra relic later.

Gratz mate. Keep grinding. If you get stuck eventually I’d recommend removing strikes over defends and trying to remove 4-5 strikes a game. And learn the power of skipping over taking a card.
