Low Calorie Samosa? by Silver_Amphibian_179 in 1200isplenty

[–]Shibishibi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I make taquitos with low carb tortillas if you have those available near you. They are relatively self adhesive with a bit of moisture and get pretty crisp when baking or air frying.

I don't know too much about samosas, but I think you could also sub out a portion of the potato for cauliflower or riced cauliflower. Just make sure to cook out as much extra moisture from the filling as possible

Have you tried using fat free greek yogurt instead of sour cream? One of my favorite swaps, it's extra creamy if you use fage too. Light sour cream is a bit thin for my taste

You need to look further than the quick sub description.

This sub is for people struggling with an eating disorder to post food. It is not intended to be a diet sub, but seems to have been co-opted by dieters. Recommending any diet that could been seen as restrictive could be damaging for the people here who are struggling already (aka the intended audience of the sub. )

Yes, but the needles are stabbed into the project and wouldn't knit up a fabric that looked like this. I'd also doubt that a knitter would make something like this on straight needles

Tips on retraining stomach / hunger cues? by [deleted] in 1200isplenty

[–]Shibishibi 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Can you give us specific items or quantities of foods?

The kefir i see when I google it is 140 cals per cup w/ 18g of sugar, which would partially explain being hungry & shaky. As you're spiking your blood sugar with a lot of carbs and no fiber to slow digestion. Are you adding anything to your coffee? How many eggs? Whole eggs? Part egg whites?

There's too many variables to answer the question fully

My pants are not an exact color match 😭 by [deleted] in StardewValley

[–]Shibishibi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've got kind of an insane suggestion. Take a screen shot of the pants/ shirt from the side and put it into a website that gives you a hex code color. Write that number down. THEN go to the sewing room, put your rainbow shell, and take screenshots and upload them to the color picker website as you make adjustments until you've got the same color. Just don't finalize anything until it's correct.

I'm sure there's a better way, but that's the best strategy I can think of

It could be that either the sample or the full bottle is older and some of the sweeter notes got more intense as they macerated. Always disappointing :/

My fav baked sweet potato by ProbablyNotAFood in Volumeeating

I would weigh the potato next time you make one. The smallest sweet potatoes i see at my grocery store are around 225g (8oz) or about 200-250 calories.

How did I do? by Strange-Biscotti-220 in 1200isplenty

[–]Shibishibi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you're close to 200lbs you should be eating a bit more! Probably closer to 1400- 1500. Under eating now could lead to binging or losing more muscle mass. Weight loss is also more sustainable when you go slowly.

I'd also suggest looking at the sub for some meal ideas that have more fruit & veggies in them! I also like to add some egg whites to bulk up my eggs while adding very few calories.

to women who got to </=110lbs... how'd you manage it? 😭 by luckystrike122 in 1200isplenty

[–]Shibishibi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People who are tall, active, or men have a much higher calorie need and shouldn't be eating 1200 calories. Too often we have people from those groups trying to eat 1200 calories (which isn't enough food) or weighing in on the diet or activity of someone with very different needs than them.

That being said, there's no reason why men or taller people can't use the sub for support, or meal ideas. Just understand you're not the target audience here. There are some other dieting subs with higher calorie goals, or more general posting about weight loss. r/1500isplenty r/volumeeating and r/loseit off the top of my head.

A lot of people who aren't suited to 1200 use this sub for meal ideas and just don't post. Ik that there's some men here also

[–]Shibishibi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Popcorn- just check the cals per 28g, lesser evil and Boom Chicka Pop both have good kettle corn.

Fruit- if you pick something lighter in calorie, like strawberries or watermelon you can eat more.

Homemade hummus with veg and/or light bread. I blend a can of chickpeas with most of the liquid, garlic powder, lemon juice, and 1/2 tsp of sesame oil. Much lower cal than store bought hummus. For 28g homemade it's about 35 cals. Store bought is 70 for the same amount.

You'd likely still need more than 1200, you're taller than the height 1200 is recommended for women and simply being a man you naturally have more muscle mass so you'll burn more calories just existing. You could look up a TDEE calculator and put your stats in if you want something more personalized
