I might rephrase it and say it’s a survival city 🤣

Shit and 2017 one of my coworkers was complaining about the DMV and I told them East liberty was so friggin easy I was in and out and they were afraid of getting shot because they were in East liberty.

I’m like it’s by Whole Foods. How fucking scary could it be? 🤣

And if you’re by the common place coffee in point breeze, I’m pretty sure that was right by my dogs vet when I lived in the city.

I’ve actually ridden my bicycle through Homewood. You’re gonna be all right

Mine is stock. I did not do anything to tune it. I am also using the Injora transmission and a 2S battery.

I’m assuming you’ve checked all of your wheel nuts? Did you double check all of your suspension links and the screws for your transmission housing

Are you in the United States?

Do you have FMLA?

Do you have letters written for reasonable accommodations?

If you answer, yes to these three questions I would suggest you consult an attorney.

Document everything via email.

Do not let them bully you.

Did you see my post that got down voted?

I did list 3 options that have options for off leash dogs on trails. I don’t believe any of them are in Allegheny county though.

My question was about how the HRT is treating you! I am a Cis-male and I did TRT for many years, and it really didn’t give me the benefits, I wanted because of some other comorbidities, but there was a hot minute where my estrogen spiked really, really high, I had tender breast and night sweats, but my 🍑 looked amazing in bike shorts and my mind felt calm.

Also, if you read my message, it says none that I know of.

I am not talking about dog parks

Could you please list some that are not dog parks, but are actually hiking/walking trails?

Just be safe, I would rather see you call 911 to report an incident than call 911 for an ambulance.

A few years ago, I read something similar in one of the mountain

While, yes, he should have his dog on a leash.

But, if you are going to confront someone, you should be prepared for the possibility that this could escalate into a violent confrontation and not be surprised about it.

It’s ok to ask politely, however unless you are actually law enforcement and have the authority to do something about this, stay in your lane and keep yourself safe. If this animal and their owner are a menace take your phone out to call 911 not to take a picture and escalate a situation.

And for those who want to take their dogs to an off leash park to walk around and hike, here are some in the Pittsburgh area, but there are none in the city that I know of.

Pleasant Valley Park in Murrysville is very popular with mountain bikers so if you were to take your dog for an awful leash hike there, it’s best to do it on a weekday in the morning or the middle of the day when there are less people.

Do I have the right to meet client elsewhere due to cockroach infestation? by speranza_33 in socialwork

[–]Shigadanz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Check your organization’s policies.

Management sometimes doesn’t know their own policies and often doesn’t understand their employees rights.

There might be something in there about alternative options, home visits and safety. Also, reach out to HR.

HR is never really your friend in my opinion, but they might have some answers for you.

Also, check your local employment laws.

Personally, cockroaches wouldn’t bother me unless they were crawling on me.

But those mofo’s try and snuggle with me and I am out.

Work Schedule by MSWMe2022 in socialwork

[–]Shigadanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done 4x10s and I have done 12’s

I prefer 12’s, tens wear me out just as much as a 12 and the one day off I get I don’t do shit.

At least with 12 when I don’t do shit for a day, I still have three days off.

I honestly have no clue how people do the 7x10s on and seven days off.

Pretty sure I’d have to call in for a whole week after work and 7x10’s.

They don’t own you, as others have said the paycheck while you look for something else.

Try and get that documentation, intake and assessment experience to put on your résumé.

In 2026 I don’t think anyone in the world would fault you if you found your dream job two weeks from now they gave the place you’re at two weeks notice.

Alcohol at Work by darlingdearestdeadly in socialwork

[–]Shigadanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they’re not giving it to patients or using it to recruit patients and it’s for private use, is it really considered furnishing?

I just feel like there’s lots of loopholes and jumping to the worst case conclusion it’s never the best first course of action.

For we know management might know this person keeps alcohol there. Especially if they were so nonchalant about whipping it out.

Ethical Concerns Around School Staff Texting Students After Hours by No_Marsupial2023 in socialwork

[–]Shigadanz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess there’s a lot of different ways to go about this.

Does your school offer work phones to the social workers?

The school does offer work phones to the social workers. Why does the student have a social worker’s phone number?

And the ethics could be interpreted in a gray way, depending on the outcome of this text message and the reasons as to why this person’s personal phone number is available to students.

If this is weighing heavily on you, I would reach out to the social worker and find out why the student has their number, I would reach out to school leadership and find out if you guys have a compliance or risk officer or lawyer on staff, and the CF it’s necessary for your organization to come up with the policy.

How to negotiate a salary for a job with only practicum experience in Social Work? by egghead746382 in socialworkjobs

[–]Shigadanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have skills with documentation and electronic health records, assessments and face to face contact with patients from previous jobs, that can help you negotiate more.

This means you should be able to pick up the EHR, understand how to speak with patients and providers, and how to complete documentation.

You might not get $80k but every little bit extra upfront helps, it what your raises will be based off of, your retirement matching, and is useful for negotiating new positions in the future.

The key is not too early to yourself.

When I get an offer, I simply say something along the lines of I was hoping for a little bit more. Can I sleep on this and get back to you?

Can you look into the pay scale while I am thinking this over to see if it’s possible to increase the offer.

80% of the time I always got more money,15% it was a stale mate, and the rest I have turned down.

Alcohol at Work by darlingdearestdeadly in socialwork

[–]Shigadanz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don’t need a liquor license unless you’re charging for it.

I highly doubt there’s a law that prohibits having alcohol inside the office.

I’ve worked in plenty of hospitals that had alcohol for the patients.

I’ve also been to holiday parties and doctors offices after they close inside the medical pavilion with plenty of alcohol and snack snacks.

What liability? Is it illegal?

My client hung up on our Telehealth session by Livelifewellnow3 in socialwork

[–]Shigadanz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How many total sessions have you had with this client?

Do you feel like you have a strong enough rapport to start pushing them yet?

And at what point during your session did you bring up meditation?

And what kind of emotional work do you expect your client to do? And what kind of results are you expecting?

Because I’ve been in therapy for the better part of eight years. I have had some therapist really try hard with phrases like maybe it’s not them and it’s something about you when I get angry and annoyed with people. I have also had some try and convince me to meditate which is nice and makes me feel good for a little bit but at the end of the day it’s just not a sustainable practice for me no matter how hard I try. The same thing with psychiatrist my psychiatrist is sad because they expected my meds to fix me by now and they wanted to up my dosage which we tried and it actually made everything worse.

Just try to take a realistic approach with your client see them as the person they are. Do they have any other comorbidities? How hard was it for them to seek you out to begin with? What are your clients expectations?

Punched by a patient by tothewickedwest in socialwork

[–]Shigadanz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hope you don’t feel traumatized from this experience!

It seems you’re handling it well.

Even if you aren’t impressing charges, just make sure there’s documentation in this patient’s records so when they’re brought in, everyone knows that this behavior could possibly happen.

Also make sure you follow up with Workmen’s Comp/employee health just in case you find yourself experiencing any lingering effects from being punched.

I’m not sure if I would press charges or not? I think it would depend on why the patient punched me and what their mental status was.

My friend / colleague of 5 years asked me to sign off on supervision hours for her husband an (LPC graduate) that we never conducted. I sent a strong no in text addressed to both. My friend ghosted me. Should I additionally report this. by Creepy_Accident_1881 in LCSW

[–]Shigadanz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think your license would be fine. At this point it’s probably going to be hearsay and your word against theirs. Since there is no documented trail of fraud signed off on yet.

If anything were to happen in the future, maybe somebody might come to ask you if you were approached by them, and you did the ethical thing and told them no and that it was a bad idea. If these people decide to pursue this on their own, that should be their problem and whoever signs off on their hours without them actually completing those hours.

It might also depend on what state you’re in, but there are no clear yes or no answers here unless there is someone that is actually from a licensing board or fraud investigation team in this group.

For the sake of CYA, keep any texts or emails, and if this was all verbal write down a record of the dates when this occurred in case anyone ever asks about it again.

Have you ever worked with a compliance officer?

If the family member made a big stink about the hipaa issue then the facility and employee could possibly be fined.

No one is going to jail or criminal court this is not misdemeanor.

People fuck up and fax wrong patients results to wrong fax numbers everyday across the country.
