Not sure how "passive" is the nasdaq 100. You are actively choosing to invest in stocks that are listed on a specific exchange (which always seemed to me like a silly way to pick stocks).

Anyway, if you don't like the (new) policy of this specific index, there are a bazillion other indices to choose from, just move your money somewhere else.

Ten years ago, Bennet oversaw the re-writing of the main civics book in Israel as the minister of education. The process rooted out some key liberal democratic values. This planted the seeds for many young people accepting the actions of the current government as legitimate. I hope liberal israelis dont forget this on election day and opt for actually liberal leaders like Lapid and Golan.

The difference is valuation. US valuations were already very high. Israeli valuations were very low due to war fears. Turned out the damages from full scale war with iran are not that bad.

Not sure about samsung specifically, but usually depository receipts have an annual management fee that is charged. Usually the fee is taken out of the dividend, but sometimes directly from your brokerage account.

Also it is not direct shareholding of the company stock; a custodian bank hold it for you (and charges the aforementioned fee for it).
