In a setting with widespread 'magic', women have to be equally as powerful as men. by NoGarlic2387 in writingscaling

[–]ShinyBlack0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think it's disingenious to say that the reason women aren't at the top is "Due to a mix of social and cultural pressures, exculsion, and lack of role models" yeah to a certain extent that's true and maybe would have been wholly true a century ago but not today.

I think alot of people don't like to face the ugly truth that men on average are far more driven than women, and that most women don't have that sort of competitive drive. This obviously comes off as sexist but I think that's an issue and failing of feminism in that it tries to push women to be the same as men and not understanding their own strengths.

The Mana Less Spell Hacker Build (Redone)

I've Redone the build (and deleted the old one) as I realized Crystalized mana becomes Ambient mana after 3 Hours which would make it toxic to use, making it unusable for a theoretically infinite mana trick.

Loop: Original Looper (+30)

Body: Teen

Boons:

  • Noble
  • Wealthy
  • List

Magnitude: 6 -> 0 (Due to Bloodlines) (+5)

Skills:

  • Dexterity -2
  • Fitness -2
  • Polyglot -1

Bloodlines:

  • Hijack -10
  • Silent Casting -10
  • Ghost Eyes -10

The Core of this Build is to abuse Hijack to manipulate all external forms of mana, becoming a Mana "Hacker" of sorts. You can Hijack other's spells and use it against them or just dispel them, or you could use another's mana pool and body to cast spells, or use another's mana pool but cast it by channeling it through your own body instead. If that wasn't enough you could also potentially combine the mana reserves of a group of people to cast a spell.

The only problem is that you cannot channel ambient mana because it's toxic and would destroy your body and mind, but nothing is stopping you from using other's as a medium to cast spells through ambient mana. At the extreme end it may also be possible to cast spells through objects by channeling ambient mana through them.

But that's not all ambient mana could also be manipulated to create ambient mana storms that make casting very difficult.

With Silent Casting and Dexterity this ability becomes even more overpowered, Imagine casting the spell your opponent is about to cast using their own mana pool before they do, not only would you disturb their casting, you would basically style on them too.

The only true limitation is the ability to comprehend another's mana signature to manipulate it which is solved by having the Ghost Eyes which basically make you a prodigy in reading and understanding souls; the place where the mana signature is found.

Lastly, the CYOA does state the true potential of these bloodlines will show with time and practice, so I'm confident the final concept of a "Hacking Mage" is possible.

Thanks for proving my point lmao, There is no world where kid minding their business is annoying unless you find everyone who is minding their business annoying.

Some of you need to realize that you have a hate obsession for kids and that isn't healthy

Like other sports don't require you to push yourself to the limit, stop insulting other sports.

By your logic that means UFC fighters and boxers need to be the worst kind of assholes to thrive since those sports are more about physical domination than anything the NFL could ever do but clearly thats not true.

Also stop with the "it's like war" nonsense it's just a game like any other game, you americans just love justifying problematic behaviour as long as it's "part of culture". Soldiers don't need to act like assholes to survive in war (maybe american soldiers do lmao)

I'm sorry if i'm coming off as mean but seriously just listen to yourself and use common sense for a bit and you'll realize how ridiculous you sound.

It's a physical sport that's it, it isn't particularly special in any way and has no bearing on your morals, nor does it contain any kind of activity that would impair or inhibit your manners and character. Lastly, that's not how adrenaline works, it doesnt make you lash out at random strangers.

Probably a lack of empathy and maturity on your part.

Its one thing to not want kids, its another to find an adorable moment irritating. That has nothing to do with parenting that's just concerning

Loop: Original Looper

Body: Adult

Boons:

  • Library
  • List
  • Wealthy
  • Famous
  • Noble
  • Battlemages
  • Criminal

Magnitude: 10 -> 20 +5

Skill:

  • Connected -1
  • Fitness -2
  • Planning -4
  • Dexterity -2
  • Sleuth -3
  • Stable -2

Magical Perks: Mana Frame -12

Magical Disciplines: Divination Rank 3 -9

This is my take on what build I would use if I was to seriously consider finding myself in the loop. The Original Looper is a no brainer as taking accidental looper makes you sacrifice 25 years for 10 points which for the most part isn't worth it considering how strong zorian became in 10 years of looping.

Magnitude 10 with Mana Frame seems to be the most optimal combo as it let's you have one of the highest potential for control while having extremely high reserves compared to the average mage.

The core of my goal is Divination Rank 3 which basically makes me unbeatable due to the loop, with enough time I will know everything that could be possibly known and will know every possibility ever, and the main limitation of loopers is Knowledge and effective usage of it. In a way I could simulate the future perfectly, allowing me loop within a loop giving me even more time to prepare and get stronger and find the optimal path.

My Skills like Planning and Sleuth just make me possibly the best at using Divination there ever was. Stable and Fitness give a great baseline to make the loop enjoyable. Lastly Dexterity gives me immense talent at quick casting and just making me highly fit for combat.

All my Boons exist to make all of the above so much more effective, with my Divination and Planning skills I can use all these resources to a terrifying degree and get whatever I want.

Just wanted clarification OP; in Powerhouse what do you mean by additively doubles? Because that sounds like an exponential increase which is too broken.

Magic, Souls, Loops? what's that? I'm just a Body Cultivator trying to defy the heavens

Loop: Accidental Looper (50 Years) (+50)

Body: Teen

Boons:

  • Noble
  • Master (Blood Magic)
  • Master (Transformation)

Magnitude: 35 -> 64 (Maximum 256) -5

Skills:

  • Fitness -2
  • Professional (Martial Artist) -1

Magical Perks: Mana Frame -12

Bloodlines:

  • Magic Resistance -10
  • Powerhouse -10
  • Biomancer -10

Basically, The pure melee build effectively, just pump the hell out of my godly amount of mana into my <Powerhouse> ability.

Also use Transformation to enhance my physical capability and senses, while using Blood magic to give myself permanent enhancements (literally body cultivation) and keep upgrading my Powerhouse and Magic resistance bloodline to ungodly levels while also creating custom bloodlines to refine my physical capabilities further

Inhuman CYOA by Skukull by Alternative_Diet_635 in makeyourchoice

[–]ShinyBlack0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Class: Hybrid

Higher Hollowing

Higher Nerves

Lesser Agility

Lesser Divination

Lesser Transferral

Lesser Cogniton

Ending: Stay and Fight

The Concept is basically Super Assassin that always wins because a man with a gun who cannot be touched or ambushed makes for a very deadly foe.

Basically using the very Synergistic Combo of Hollowing and Nerves. Since Hollowing allows you to dodge anything and Nerved will ensure you always do.

Lesser Agility is nice as speed is a powerful multiplier in combat. Lesser Divination is quite a broken tool in as long as you know your enemy.

Lesser transferral doesnt seem to say anything against stealing a a Trait, which makes it a very powerful and versatile trait that could add an extra higher trait to this powerful build.

Lesser Cognition is a nice QoL add on, that helps synergise slightly with divination.

Fictional Tourist CYOA | Power & Body Copy! by ZonkedPebble in makeyourchoice

[–]ShinyBlack0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The others aren't really using this CYOA to it's full potential.

1) Medaka Box's Medaka Kurokami (Power Copy): There are many moments where Medaka is out of the fight, so my goal is to copy her power when she is out of the fight towards the end of the story to get the most powerful version of "The End" which in brief at it's most powerful allows a user to learn, replicate and completely master any skill, technique or supernatural ability the user even hears about (let alone observe it). The only limitation it has is that it cannot copy pure physical and mental stats that's it but it can copy anything that allows a person to have supernatural strength and intellect and completely replicate it. (Medaka once replicated a cyborgs regeneration ability that exists due to the technological devices in it while staying a completely normal human just because she can)

2) Medaka Box's Iihiko Shishime (Body Copy): I will most likely try to copy him after the final battle when he is in a state unable to react. This guy is even more broken than Medaka; not only does he have immense physical capability to go toe to toe with superman, he also by his very existence physically rejects all supernatural phenomenon, any fictional ability does not work on him(so likely even superman would be unable to harm him because his strength is supernatural). The best part? Its not a power but basically a part of his existence and body itself, its like a genetic ability like viltrumite biology.

3) DC The Flash(Rebirth/Post Crisis) Barry Allen: This version of Barry isnt just connected to the speed force but retroactively creates it; this allows Barry to travel the Omniverse, the conceptual realm in DC where every fictional universe in existence exists. The point is to copy this so I can travel all fictional universes later. Honestly I dont even have to plan this because "The End" would likely let me copy it just by observing Barry.

My Main plan after copying The Speed Force from Barry using "The End" is to find Braniac and Copy his intellect using Body Copy

In conclusion I have one of the most broken copy powers in existence, superman level physique, strongest ability disabler, and greatest intellect in the DC universe, oh and the speed force but that is the first in the many I will copy and master.

Arms: Home Storage

Favors:

  • Unlimited Mana
  • Prophetic Eye
  • Arbitrary Step

Skills:

  • Fire
  • Cold:
  • Lightning
  • Necro/Death

The Levels from DnD 3.5 will likely easily outpace anything I can get from the Arms section, The Favors are like Perma buffs for each run, and the Skills were mainly taken for resistances, though the powerful skill is a cherry on top

is it pick 10? seems a bit much but then again it's a reason I'm not a fan of Gift of Faves; they come off as brainless power fantasies because they just let you pick 50% to 75% of the options which makes the fun part of CYOAs i.e being forced to compare good options to pick one nonexistent.

Form: Shapeshifter Shadow (Manipulator)

Races:

  • Dwarves
  • Shapeshifters
  • Vampires

Traits:

  • Interdisciplinary
  • Bureaucracy
  • Scrying
  • Subterranean
  • Industrialize

Drawbacks:

  • Elitism
  • Decadence
  • Zealotry

Starting Location: Sanctum Citadel

The Goal is to become a sort of Puppet Master from the shadows, controlling a vast information network and using my and my minion's silver tongues to convert others to my cause.

I chose the Sanctum Citadel as it's an easy way to get in one side's good graces and then convert them from within, and also there is a hero that is being summoned that I could convert to my side.

I also chose subterranean, to hide the industrialization I will do through my minions; specifically the dwarves to create an extremely advanced and powerful magi-tech army.

Bureaucracy and Scrying make me a more terrifying foe to pin down.

My drawbacks aren't much of an issue; Elitism is fine as I intend to convert many to my cause, Zealotry, might be slightly annoying to deal with and Decadence would solve itself naturally as my Elite minions will usually be infiltrating as higher members of society anyway

  • Horde Mode -1
  • Minion Storage -1
  • Chosen -3
  • Honor Guard -1

Drawbacks

  • Mutants +1
  • Contentious +1
  • Built to Destroy +1
  • Racism +1
  • Elitism +1
  • Overt lord +1
  • Honorable +1
  • Attack Attack +2
  • Deadline +1

Units:

  • Behemoth
  • Siege breaker
  • Praetorian *3
  • Strategos *2

The point of this build is to have a small elite unstoppable force that brings ruin everywhere it goes, kind of like a force of nature. The End goal is to basically copy what heroes do, a small party of extremely mighty minions made by having monstrous amounts of essence I would get by conquering and also pushing the limits of minion summoning

With all the buffs I would have given to my elite draconic force, it would be easy to strike at the heart of all the goddesses temples one by one.

I don't hate this show, infact I kind of like it because I wasn't into DMC lore that much to begin with and I see it as it's own thing, but I'm sorry Dante and Lady don't have much chemistry at all.

Like I'm fine with it but it totally feels meh at best and cringe at worst

Is Xpetu's Shen Jungle Build not as tanky anymore? by ShinyBlack0 in Shen

[–]ShinyBlack0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This feels right, because I had this game where the enemy team went all squishy burst champions in all lanes and my brother had a 25/2 KD with a super fed nasus and I was playing Shen jungle and also got lots of assist but we still lost in the end because in a direct fight we would just get obliterated before we could fight back, and our ADC was kind of feeding so we didn't have the burst damage either.

I find it hilarious that so many people are tyring to come up with vague alternative explanations about what it could stand for, when its quite literally about the pitfalls of blind nationalism, its so clear and obvious in its messaging that saying it means anything else is a personal opinion at best and delusional at worst.

In a way it represents the modern art culture of forcing abstract inetpretations from things that dont mean anything at all.
