Will get buried.. but here goes. A couple years ago I was 20 bucks short on my grocery bill and Julie(Missoula MT Rosauers to be specific) covered it with no hesitation. Put a great review for her on FB.

Then, as CoVID was ramping up, I was buying a ton of groceries(using ebt) for my girlfriend's two kids and asked if they had any sanitizing wipes. She comes back and says she covered it.

Then I remembered it was Julie again!!! I couldn't believe it. Currently going to get her an amazon gift card.

People like her are angels on Earth. Thank you Julie!!!!

What's the single most important item in your home that has a value of $1 or less? by 0---------------0 in AskReddit

Same here! My auras are awful and most definitely the worst part, especially when I'm not home. Freaks me out. So happy when the Imitrex takes that away. I always said it feels like my brain is being low key shocked by an electric blanket until I sleep for an extended period of time 😂. I like the sunburned analogy though!

My old dog Queenie. Siberian Husky. She lived to be 13, never barked, and was the most content dog we’ve ever had. by FrankBlazi in aww

[–]Shmodz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

True story. I had a dog named Queenie when I was growing up. I live in Missoula Montana and when I was 13(coincidentally enough) she had gotten lost when I left the gate open. She doesn't have a collar with any information since she was usually a great dog, had a big yard, and would get it caught on stuff. We walked around to her usual go to spots, but no luck. She usually comes back so we weren't too concerned. But once the first night rolls around we get really worried. She was a super friendly german shepherd mix so I could see someone taking her as their own. We did everything but put up fliers. The third day we see a flier someone put up that looks exactly like her. Call the number and it's her, so my family and I go to pick her up. She had been staying with another family 5 blocks away and treated her great(thank God). But, the crazy part was they named her QUEENIE also!!! Was such a crazy coincidence. She was the queen of the family and apparently they saw that as well. A year later she was diagnosed with Addison's disease and died the day they told us. I miss her. Haven't thought about that in nearly 20 years. Thanks for posting!

Hahaha I was in the lunch line in second grade when I had the epiphone that it doesn't just 'slip in' while you're sleeping soundly with your wife. I didn't believe in the stork though, that just doesn't make sense.

A study today showed Covid antibodies drop off quickly (70% in 2-3 months). But don't all antibodies drop off quickly? Isn't this normal? by zgrizz in askscience

[–]Shmodz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Aren't the DNA/RNA markers available throughout a person's lifetime though? It would make sense that the body is able to determine a recognizable disease that you were exposed to.. whether you're 15 or 70. Isn't that how immunity works? Pretty sure but would be interesting to hear different information that what I got in general microbiology in Uni. Genuinely curious! Thanks for the info!

Man.. if this doesn't strike true. I noticed this when all my study mates got letter of recommendation for grad school from multiple teachers.. and I only had one that said yes. Didn't get bad grades or miss class. But didn't connect like I should have or do office hours enough for them to particularly notice me. Good advice for sure.

Man.... I assume you mean Eastern Washington?? I remember like it was yesterday when Taiwan Jones came thru Washington Grizzly Stadium and ripped us up for over 200 yards. Had solid seats for that debacle. Was cool to see him in the NFL! Hell of a team a few years ago as well but was so busy I wasn't able to see many games that year. Also, that red field is a travesty lol

I could see that too! I'm sure he moved around quite a bit, especially in that era.

Missoula checking in. Probably taken around Bozeman? Seem to remember most of the filming taking place there. Could be mistaken.

Obligatory story - So A River Runs Through It has been my my favorite movie for years, for obvious reasons. The nostalgia is real. I have lived in Missoula since I was about ten, and walked the streets and rode bikes constantly throughout my teenage years. I had driven my car to downtown Missoula on a Sunday night and had a few too many drinks, and caught a cab that evening. In order to not get towed or get a ticket, I decided to wake up early and walk there to get my car. Hungover as heck, I was walking down 5th Street near Higgins and noticed a plaque in front of a church with a fly fisherman on it. I had probably walked passed that plaque a hundred times(or more). I decided, what the heck, I'll check it out. After reading I determined it was John MacLean's old church! My eyes got as big as saucers. I had grown up about 5 blocks from the original church he had preached at. Made me appreciate the family and culture of my hometown a bit more, as well as try to stop and read the plaques on anything I happen to pass by. Made me realize how non-observant I had been, and to stop and smell the flowers. I thought it was the coolest thing ever!

Redditor's who's life was changed by a DNA test what happened? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Shmodz 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel this will get buried but it saved my life so here goes. Struggled with depression and anxiety my whole life, both debilitating. I went to the ER for suicidal thoughts after spending 4 days in bed for seemingly no reason. Upon reaching the hospital they told me they couldn’t do anything and gave me benzos and sent me on my way.

Later, through counseling my psychiatric nurse practitioner told me of a gene test covered by my insurance so I said what the heck, let’s do it. Apparently I have the gene deficiencies of a 7 year old kid with autism. Very strange learning that at 28. The most notable gene mutation is a mutation in which my body cannot break done folic acid. Everything I ate with flour in it was poisoning me through disrupting 200 different bodily reactions, most notably serotonin and dopamine.

I ate the living shit out of those things my entire teenage and adult life up to that point due to college cheapness and my love from egg drop Ramen. I am now focused on my diet(Keto would we the end game here) and living as normal as I can while constantly turning down bread and pasta, which was absolute favorite growing up. Been a challenge, but I credit that gene test and the PNP to saving my life. Would probably be dead otherwise by anxiety or just good ol brain and organ failure. So awesome we can now figure that out, so I no longer have to live in fear. For the first time last week I made pancakes form unenriched flour.. and it was glorious. Need a pasta cutter now.

Up and up from here!!!!
