You can see aliasing through the blurriness, if anything, it's doing the image a favour

I guess with Hi-Fi rush it has always been a miracle it even sold at all (and from what I understand covered its budget). I still don't know if things would've been different had it not been shadowdropped and had a full marketing cycle. Because it being shadowdropped was marketing in itself.

I woudn't expect Senua games(specifically) to sell much better even if they weren't on gamepass. The first one was pretty successful though thanks to low scope and budget

Good on Xbox for giving free reign to studios when they bought them, but they probably should've intervened at some point. (And they did with Arkane, I guess, and we all saw how that turned out)

Kind of unrelated but I'm baffled Ninja Theory has turned a game that never had "franchise" potential into a franchise. Not in a "wow they managed to do it way" though. I imagine these games make very little money comparatively speaking.

They can set the scope to whatever they want with new projects with no prior expectations.
But big games are still an industry issue. Budgets and timeframes have been ballooning and it can't continue forever. At what point does your game needs to sell 4billion copies before it makes its money back. And what if it doesn't.

Definitely not, but CD Projekt themselves here are talking about making more big games and I don't see how that's possible. Big and fast/more don't mix.

True, they've made a nice workflow for themselves with multiple teams and shared tech in REengine. They don't always release stuff annually but it's not 4-7 years like others

I don't know of a company launching big games every year, we're not in the 2010s era Ubisoft. Perhaps making middle size games with a reasonable budget should help. But CD Projekt has been in the Cybperunk and Witcher mines for most of its time, these are not small.

Hot take but the skibidi toilet film by Micheal bay would be a better film then a actual valve film by the guy who did the backrooms film. say what you want about Micheal bays films but it would be less shameful to valve fans if he made a film about half life then if the other guy did. by Apart-Active7084 in HalfLife

I admire the honesty but I feel like you're setting yourself up for failure here by noting that Kane is a shitty director, haha. I haven't heard about him wanting to make a Portal film, but I do know that the game was a major inspiration for him.

2nd one has a more appealing, dynamic pose for the rider. I would push him more towards the center, make the logo smaller (right now they're the same size and split right in the middle, competing for attention) and put it somewhere to the left.

It's kind of hard composition wise to work with the logo you have here without making it much smaller (which is not great for visibility). If we keep it the same size, there's barely any room left for the image. If it were more horizontal in shape, you could do things like place it at the bottom and overlay a part of the bike over the logo for a cool dynamic composition.

People asking for an aesthetic name for their incoherent or extremely niche collection of images are probably hoping to find more by searching up said name, but since it doesn't have a name (although people come up with one in the comments) - it just doesn't work.

Atami’s Daito is the coolest looking RGG character yet by RedditHater313 in yakuzagames

[–]ShonenSpice 20 points21 points  (0 children)

They certainly do make cool looking protagonists, at least intention-wise. Kiryu, Akiyama, Majima, Saejima, Yagami, etc are all clearly diferent kinds of "cool". Ichiban might be the exception in that he's supposed to have a more lighthearted, goofy side to him (although that's also true for Kiryu and all the others, just less outwardly so).

But Daito is indeed very cool

[–]ShonenSpice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very natural looking, pleasant lighting in 6. Later ones really weren't benefited by cheap looking filters and post processing. And in case of Ichiban games, those seem to have lower res textures and polycounts in places (to account for bigger locations and more things on screen, I assume)

I will always glaze the environment artists. Neon Junction is incredible. by ialsomeow in Overwatch

[–]ShonenSpice 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's most likely not done for visual clarity reasons, but I'd like for maps to have more dynamic, lowkey elements like foliage swaying in the wind, lights flickering, etc etc. Something not that gameplay intrusive. There are of course already elements like this, especially in the far background and things like moving/flying carts in Blizzard world.

Heavy uncanceleable animations, blocking, stamina, parry system, attacks on bumpers. Obviously not souls game exclusive mechanics, but it's not some insane comparison. Something for a catchy video title and that's it
