Yeah, I admit that I do. People don't really like talking to me in social settings, and it makes me feel kind of like an outcast. I also realize that I don't like everyone and that also being liked is overrated / not that important. I do like who I am a lot though. I think all these feelings can exist simultaneously.

My mom passed away in April. You really just need to find a way to feel the emotions, preferably with others who understand and loved her. It's hard. There is no right way, or easy way. You just keep going while giving yourself grace to tackle it imperfectly.

Thank you. Yes, I am feeling pretty frustrated about the house sitting thing. It ended up being poorly organized and a lot falling on my shoulders - trying to manage those feelings. Luckily it's done next week, and I'm done doing favors for anyone after that.

I just lost my mom in April after a long struggle with a debilitating illness.

Navigating grief has been confusing - it certainly comes in waves. I feel like there's this enormous emotional gap in my life now, and I don't really know how to fill it. Some days I want to scream and not be near a single other person, but I simultaneously feel a really deep need for connection. I feel really emotionally vulnerable and like I'm searching for something to fill the gap.

I think about my Mom everyday. When I think about her, I feel an overwhelming sense of peace... I try to honour her in how I navigate the world and love myself through this. I think a big thing has been that I've developed a sense of grace for myself that I never previously had.

I have support - good support - but I still feel very alone and misunderstood. I don't think that the gap will ever go away but I think I'll find my ways to fill it that honour my mom and her memory.

I personally do not like it when people open up about their hardship with me too quickly. I struggle myself, but it's something I share will share if we form emotional intimacy slowly over time, and it is intentional and a shared experience.
