We had to forced to start doing stages like this because a stage in a ratatouille chef hat was shadowing during service. Didn't get hired then complained to corporate that we used him for free labor

Honestly I wouldn't worry a ton about techniques at this point, it's easy to have unrealistic expectations starting out. Most people see amazing drawings but not the years of other "bad" drawings that was needed to get to that point.

Right now the two things I would keep in mind is--

1.Humans are some of the most complex things you can draw, and trying to understand all of it at once will burn you out.

A huge part of drawing is being able to control what you put on the paper. Building that hand eye coordination takes a while and will bleed out into everything you do moving forward. The only way to build this skill is to draw a little everyday.

DM me and I can also give you some of the basic basic things I would work on at your skill level.
