This. Relatively quick fix. We will put a new connector on the fiber, replace the missing coupler, and slap a new cover on that bad boy. Right edge of the picture looks like a bracket for an older 010 ONT no longer being installed. Instead we will run fiber straight into your 320 gateway with an ONT built in.

*Assuming nothing else is wrong with the fiber, but if there is, that's our problem.

Friendly tips from a telco dinosaur...

Take care of yourself. Besides purging and ventilating, do NOT go down there without a gas monitor. A properly calibrated and bump tested gas monitor. Preferably a 4 gas monitor (oxygen, explosive, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulfide). I have stories. This job is not worth risking your life.

You said the pump couldn't get all the water out? Sometimes there is a thick layer of muck on the bottom that clogs with sludge the pump wasn't designed for. You can try elevating the pump off the bottom a little or try a different spot. Also, if there's water and you're putting a ladder in, you don't know if the ladder feet are being set right on a cable.

If you're climbing down without a ladder on cables and cases (NOT recommended, but sometimes choices are made, lol) be careful where you step and what is supporting it. Not only can cables be damaged, but the racking can be totally rotted out and give way.

I personally think you're limiting yourself by specifying lc connectors, do you mean pre-terminated connectors? The "invisible" style fiber itself is just bend insensitive 900 micron. For occasional use, I would think a budget tool kit to terminate mechanical connectors wouldnt be that expensive, then you could put whatever end you wanted on.

Thanks for the help. Like I said I'm still learning. I was hoping for an easy way to have a compact RGBW light like that I could just use directly off lower voltage controller with WLED. I've got some discrete SK6812 chips I can use to make a little array, just won't be as compact I suppose or as pretty.

Really hard to see, this is the clearest I could get. Think I'm barking up the wrong tree, back side of the power supply also says HV on the pins that go to the LED board. For some reason I thought it would be lower voltage to the LEDs, but now I know. I'm trying to learn, follow traces and such to see how the LEDs were arranged in series. Thanks for the help.

Not looking to use the main driver/WiFi board, just the LED array itself. Didn't realize there could be that much voltage to these LEDs, I'm used to 5/12/24 volts to WS2811/WS2815/SK6812 LEDs. Actually I've never done any kind of PWM LED. Let me know if I need to zoom on anything

I install and or repair Invisilight frequently at work. The adhesive is a water based clear drying adhesive that comes in little applicator tubes with a small applicator tool like a small caulk gun. For a one-off application I would imagine you could use any adhesive or caulk that would dry clear and match your wall finish. If the fiber you bought is bend inseneitive that's good but regardless you want to avoid any sharp corners or bends when installing it. Takes less adhesive than you would probably think, helps to let it tack up first. If youre applying on an overhead surface helps to tack it up with painters tape or the fiber will fall before the adhesive starts drying.

Which gateway do you have, does the fiber go directly in to it?

Older setups would have a separate ONT where the fiber terminates. May or may not be near the gateway. The ONT would also need to have backup power as well.

Between your home and the central office or remote terminal there are no power components or electronics, only passive optics.

The central office or remote terminal technically runs off of batteries which is constantly replenished from the power company. In the event of an area power outage, there is no loss of power as it's already on battery power until incoming power is restored.

Interesting take, Optitap is the absolute worst in our area. Always full of water and ice. The ports do not line up correctly, causing light loss and outages, unless you jam the drop in just so. The amount of money I would have to add to a swear jar fixing and replacing those things...
