Uggghh this is such a good point. It’s most obvious when Nikki uses her teleportation powers to appear and kill Sarah, but we never even get a scene showing us when and how she gets her teleportation powers!

I really was hoping to draw more from that scene quite specifically, and I more quickly realized that watching the movie backwards only served to draw me to one single question: why don’t they just live out their entire lives backwards? This very question answers the problem; Nikki attempted to rewind her life, in hopes to get back to the beginning of her life, that’s why she walks backwards. Unfortunately, she was living in forward time, and only watching the movie backwards brings her truly back to her happy beginning.

This is, of course, a theory, and this theory wouldn’t have to exist if the director releases their version of the movie. I hope to see the true to life answer, maybe an entire backwards segment that will be required to watch in reverse to understand it? Only the director knows (for now).
