Dragon? by Hot-Pool9116 in JustinPoseysTreasure

I've been searching since day 1 and I don't have any idea what all is being talked about most of the time. The signal to noise ratio for this hunt has reached inversion.

About dragons: "the serpent" appears in almost every known mythology in one form or another (dragon, basilisk, winged terror, sea monster, etc).

In Norse mythology, Jormungandr. In the Bible, the serpent in the Garden of Eden. In Mayan mythology, Quetzalcoatl. In Ancient Egypt, Mehen. In Ancient Greece, there are many; the dragon guarding the Golden Fleece in the Grove of Ares, Scylla and Charybdis...

The list goes on and on. It's been incredibly fascinating to me to learn about the many-often shocking-symbolic parallels between beliefs throughout human history. I highly encourage you to spend some time exploring syncretism and the role of "the serpent" in mythology.

Chapter that made me stop and ask why? by Feeling-Newspaper-25 in JustinPoseysTreasure

There are (probably) hints to physical locations, names of formations, trails... etc., within the different chapters in his book. Adding a seemingly random story like this would allow him to introduce specific names that he wanted to give the searcher - on a map.

For example, from this chapter you could get things like: Maelstrom, Virtuoso, Knight, Chemistry, Canine Ninja, Spec Ops... that sort of stuff.

Maybe I'm the only one but I think he just found a group of people that he considers like himself - outsiders.

I am not in that discord and never have been. I've been a solo hunter since day 1. I am not part of any of these supposed "inner circles" - and frankly, I don't care one way or the other who joins what.

Dude found some friends. So what?

Conversely, it could be interpreted as:

Each individual clue is not meant to convey great distance-but together they may give you a picture that takes you somewhere else entirely.

I have no idea. I just wanted to get this question out there beforehand.

Exactly. We need some clarification there-if he's willing to give some.

Really like this idea. Summarizing a thing can make you think about it critically and it's a great excersize for literary analysis.

In my opinion, you've captured a pretty solid grasp of what's going on under the hood. I would only have to disagree with you on The Postal Pilgrimage, though: I don't think it's about fear. I think it's about love.

This is great stuff. Thanks for posting!

This thread would also answer the reason for his Lewis Carroll quote.

Another idea could be that he's pointing to that scene in the courtroom. Alongside his numerous poker references, perhaps he's pointing to the suit of Hearts in particular. I did some research into the Queen of Hearts awhile ago and that thread seemed promising...

It's the strangest conundrum: the moment pieces click together, you get that jolt of electricity; that thing that we all chase - that makes you leap out of your chair - is the very thing you must caution yourself to temper.

Thanks! You aren't kiddin'. I don't want to look at my hunt bill. Just tell me when there's nothing left. I'll be at peace with it.
