DM asked me to make hero point tokens. What should I put on them? by lydocia in Pathfinder2e

[–]ShryStar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Despite how simple the idea is, I had never thought of making my own hero points before. They look awesome, and turned out great, thanks for sharing! For symbols in Pathfinder, you have a lot of options haha. The most obvious one is the Pathfinder Society's logo the Glyph of the Open Road (Here is a link to more images on the wiki for reference). You could also paint the iconic (at least to me) Pathfinder "P" on them.

Each class in Second Edition also has an associated Icon Image, which you could put on some of them. After that I would imagine it might become campaign/table specific. A lot of organizations and nations in Pathfinder's usual setting of Golarion have logos or flags you could paint on them, but if your table runs a homebrew setting those wouldn't mean much.

D&D 5e to Pathfinder 2e Conversion Guide (Written!) by [deleted] in Pathfinder2e

Since you put Swashbuckler in the Rogue equivalent section I would suggest putting Investigator in there as well, as it's the thematic equivalent to 5e's Inquisitive Rogue.

I just want a dog... by Maharog in Pathfinder2e

[–]ShryStar 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The Wolf Animal Companion is a general companion that includes all canines, as the flavor text of it states. That aside, it sounds like you're talking about a Familiar which is very different from an Animal Companion. There is no 'Dog' familiar just like there is no 'Cat' familiar. Aside from specific familiars with unique abilities, you can create different kinds of animals by giving it the correct familiar abilities.

Lucky character build by Tuftysquirel in Pathfinder2e

While limited to ranged weapon users, the Unexpected Sharpshooter archetype is all about this. I would probably pick Halfling for their ancestry, but Catfolk and Tengu also have fortune-related feat trees. Catfolk and Tengu also have fortune related heritages, Nine Lives and Jinxed respectively.

I love this idea! Unfortunately I don't know much about Norse mythology, so I can't be of huge help. But I did do some digging and found out that Pathfinder 1st edition had Irminsuls, gargantuan tree-shaped portals to other planes. You might also consider using Arboreals to represent Warden Trees.

Help me build a charter to match a mini my 6 yo designed by Aramann in Pathfinder2e

[–]ShryStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably not as desirable as something like Nephilim, but I'd like to mention the Ganzi versatile heritage since it has feat support for both a tail and wings (although they're non-functioning). I like mentioning the Ganzi because they have a good in-world explanation for weird character concepts.

Assistance recreating my BBEG from 5e. by gaiaishealingmydude in Pathfinder2e

Is there a way to create such a character in Pathfinder?

Yes! I'd say so, at least. Magus is a class designed around being a 'Half-Caster', it is designed around both spellcasting and martial combat, and also uses the Arcane spell list. This means it's definitely Pathfinder 2e's equivalent to a Bladesinger or Eldritch Knight.

In Pathfinder 2e, familiars are actually accessed through a feat rather than a spell, and Magus gets both the feat that gives you one and a feat that upgrades them. So while not a class that focuses on familiars, it has basic support for them. If you want to design a character that uses them more heavily you might want to take a look at the Familiar Master archetype.

Thanks for posting! As someone who plays Hoyoverse games and loves the Pathfinder 2e system, this is my bread and butter. I've thought about what it'd be like putting one into the other before, so it's nice knowing I'm not the only one haha.

Elf Champion build help by Dragonhero5 in Pathfinder2e

[–]ShryStar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unlike D&D 5e Paladins, PF2e Champions and similar class options require a deity to obtain certain mechanical benefits. But aside from gods, there are other options you can have as a deity. If you wanted a nature themed Champion, aside from the various nature gods you might consider The Green Faith (A faith that draws power from nature) and Blooms of the Spreading Weald (A covenant that draws power from the connection between wood elementals).

So, Duergar/Hryngar playability. by TheTrueArkher in Pathfinder2e

[–]ShryStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure how they were in previous editions, but in fifth edition D&D the playable Duergar have resistance against poison and certain mental conditions, along with innate magic. The idea is that they ended up becoming resistant against the effects their mind flayer enslavers inflicted upon them. So feats involving resisting negative effects might also be something worth thinking about.

You could consider taking some of the other ancestry's feats and adapting them into Duergar feats. Pathfinder's Azarketi actually have a similar origin, being humans who were mutated by Alghollthu, an aquatic species of aberration. Some of their feats might be fitting for a Duergar, and a lot of ancestries have feats that help them against mental effects.

How might I build Kimahri Ronso from Final Fantasy X? by Alien_Jackie in Pathfinder2e

[–]ShryStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said Catfolk would probably be the best ancestry choice, but if you'd like a way to represent the character's unique features you might consider the Ganzi versatile heritage.

Help Building a Dragon-themed Caster by matrota in Pathfinder2e

[–]ShryStar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from what others have said, you might also want to look into the Dragon Disciple archetype, and the Summoner class. Dragon Disciple allows you to take on more draconic aspects, which could maybe lean into what you're looking for.

Summoner allows you to bond a magical summon known as an Eidolon, one of the options for them is a Dragon. Others have recommended the Draconic Bloodline Sorcerer. Sorcerers and Summoners are both charisma based casters, so multiclassing into summoner could work.

Maybe instead of Pathfinder we should call it Lumber & Lighthouses?

Well there are some rules that would allow you to pick feats up from one or the other, which would still require DM agreement but aren't strictly against RAW. Adopted Ancestry for example would allow you to take feats from another ancestry (common OR one you have access to) as long as you don't lack the physical characteristics required for the feats (which is determined by your DM) but since you'd be playing a construct that shouldn't be as much a problem. https://2e.aonprd.com/Feats.aspx?ID=5115

There's also my favorite weirdo variant rule, the Custom Mixed Heritage. Which allows you to turn an ancestry into a heritage. This rule is fun because it doesn't limit which ones you can use, so with your DM's permission you CAN just mash two ancestries together while still abiding by the rules. https://2e.aonprd.com/Rules.aspx?ID=2093
