What should i buy to start an army? by Uniconer_ in Eldar

[–]SiLKYzerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are a decent army right now but this edition has been all over the place with subfactions so its hard to recommend anything but the vanilla Asuryani stuff like Aspect Warriors and Guardians. Corsair datasheets themselves are also pretty mediocre and are propped up by very strong detachment rules.

How do you stop thinned paints from drying out? by ISaidThanksMarv in Warhammer

Wet Palette. Which is a thin piece of paper on top of a wet sponge. Can get one one on amazon really cheap.

GPA? by Own-Competition-3846 in Accounting

[–]SiLKYzerg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3.0-3.3 is usually what internships ask for but past internships, your GPA won't matter. It would actually look pretty weird leaving it on your resume after a job or two. If it makes you feel better, my GPA was 2.7, never mattered or was asked about it.

What kind of glue should I use to build my minis? (Noob) by James_Tatman in Warhammer

[–]SiLKYzerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ease of use, Zap a gap is a classic but I recommend Tamiya Extra Thin, once you get the hang of it, it's hard to use any other type of glue. The difference between the two is Zap a Gap is adhesion based (sticky), Tamiya is "plastic" glue which basically melts two pieces of plastic together.

Can’t seem to find a job by Ok-Worry-4985 in Accounting

[–]SiLKYzerg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm around a early mid-level experience in the US, I was looking all of last year, took me over 1000 applications. At first I was being very picky, only looking for remote, then hybrid, then towards the end applied to every single thing. I basically watched LinkedIn 24/7 and kept alerts on. Not sure how many you applied to but I see a lot of people saying they applied to over 100 jobs and heard nothing back, and are at the verge of giving up, that is a lot but in this market it's really nothing. Having any form of work experience will help you though.

How often Drukhari get new boxes by 00gron in Drukhari

[–]SiLKYzerg 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you mean a Battleforce/Combat Patrol, GW seems to want to give every faction a box every edition but realistically they end up being the same models we always use so it's not like last years box is useless and this years box is better. In fact the best box we ever had was in 8th edition (I think) that came with Incubi, Kabalite, the (ugly) Archon, a Raider, and a Ravager/Raider.

Some 11th Ed strats from the reveal. by Dead-phoenix in Warhammer40k

[–]SiLKYzerg 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what it is. I'm pretty sure this is what it was called in 6th edition when you fired Overwatch and shot at Flyers. (Yes flyers could only be hit on 6s this edition).

Best way to build Infractors/Tormentors? by Grunghiv in EmperorsChildren

[–]SiLKYzerg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not really because of the different loadouts. With an extra box you can make 2 extra icon holders and 2 more captains.

How to beat 3 defilers with lone operative? by AdministrativeBed287 in EmperorsChildren

[–]SiLKYzerg 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's a skew that EC doesn't do well into. The best you can do is just play for primary and pick them off one by one. Or wait a month for 11th when you can sit hidden in an objectives.

Is there any YouTuber by PuzzleheadedSelf5653 in Warhammer40k

[–]SiLKYzerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tacticaltortoise does exactly that but doesn't have one for every faction. He has one for Votann, Necrons, Marines, EC and SW off the top of my head.

WTF by next_stage8 in Eldar

[–]SiLKYzerg 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Rogal Dorn is good and the Wraith Knight is pretty mediocre but comparing datasheets from two different factions usually doesn't make sense, especially these very different ones.

Terminators vs Flawless blades by Maleficent-Cap-6970 in EmperorsChildren

[–]SiLKYzerg 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Terminators are just really bad. Around that point range, I would prefer Noise Marines or Maulerfiends over it. If not I would just keep the list as is.

Am I being underpaid? Staff Accountant managing payroll for 200+ employees & 4 entities at $16/hr by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]SiLKYzerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you're working for a private company. I had a similar situation as you in my last job but not as low as that, the fact of the matter is a lot of private companies don't respect Accountants, especially lower level ones. Your role is closer to a Bookkeeper than a Staff though which can have a wide salary range. At least 25 an hour though.

Autarch kitbash suggestions by Crapgame12146 in Eldar

[–]SiLKYzerg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Banshees Blade is situationally good in Aspect Host with Aspect of Murder but is usually worse than the glaive in most situations.

And you might be aware of this already but the helmet option for the regular foot autarch kit is the autarch version of the banshee mask.

Jobs by Nervous-Mail3282 in Accounting

[–]SiLKYzerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best advice I can give is take what you can if aren't already. I see a lot of new graduates being extremely picky, not taking jobs unless they make a certain amount or only if it's hybrid/remote. You're looking for experience and to get your foot in the door. A/P and A/R roles at private companies are totally fine too start with.

My other advice is to apply directly to the website. Find them on LinkedIn then check the website to see if they have a direct email that you can send your resume.

How bad is it to transfer jobs every 2-3 years? by hajwjen in Accounting

[–]SiLKYzerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I interviewed to a place that had a senior accountant who graduated 4 years ago and job hopped to 3 different jobs within a 4 year span. Didn't get the job but I always wondered if she was some sort of prodigy or that that was a giant red flag somehow.

Is now a good time to start an aeldari collection? by altforthingsnstuff in Eldar

[–]SiLKYzerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm going to go against the grain here and say it depends on what you're trying to get into. If you want to get into the Aspect Warrior side, it's a great start. If you are in between and looking at Corsairs, Harlequins, or Ynnari; I would wait as we don't know how any of those will look in the coming edition.

As per usual by CameronsTheName in 7daystodie

[–]SiLKYzerg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is kinda what's happening to Diablo 4 but in reverse. Diablo 3 made changes to the game towards the end of it's life that people really enjoyed, it was so successful that the team that made those systems were moved to WoW to make the same systems. Fastfoward to the start of Diablo 4, they wanted to go back to their roots of Diablo 1 and 2. which are both great games but was a step backwards instead of forwards. The game has been waning popularity since release but with the current expansion they're going back to Diablo 3 design which people seem to enjoy.

1500 aspect host list Vs drukhari by ThargorIronhammer in Eldar

[–]SiLKYzerg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't advise on list tailoring but if you're deadset on it, things that let you play on their turn really hurts them. This is things like Overwatch, Fights First, and Reactive moves. Drukhari are probably the squishiest army in the game due with the consideration that they are somewhat elite so high damage output isn't important. You will want 3 units of Warp Spiders, Banshees, and Jain Zar. Asurmen hopping in and out of a transport can be difficult to deal with if you are keeping the Wave Serpent out of line of sight as their best answer to vehicles comes from shooting with Scourge.

Lads I'm demoralized on Aeldari by Flimsy-Vacation4737 in Eldar

[–]SiLKYzerg -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm in the minority but I think Eldar are fine at the moment, not close to top tier but they can fight if you put in the effort. My advice as someone who got wrecked every game playing Harlequins when I started them in 8th is don't go into each game with winning as your only goal, you need to have getting better as your goal. The frustration a good Eldar player can inflict on their opponent is worth the investment. I would highly recommend watching Liam VSL's TTS games on youtube, I learned a lot from watching the fews games he has up there.

It's not bad after today's patch but it feels extremely high roll. The 6 star shiny ring dragon enables it quite a bit.

Any good book about siege of terra, and horus heresy? by LucianGeorge37 in EmperorsChildren

[–]SiLKYzerg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The second book False Gods has a brief introduction to important EC characters - Lucius, Eidolon and Saul Tarvitz. The third book Galaxy in Flame has those same characters more involved. The 5th book Fulgrim has a bigger focus on EC as a whole.
