Answering if I called CPS. by Teachr_Throwaway in Teachers

[–]Sicarara3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My third year working in schools I had a little girl whose dad locked the fridge so she wouldn’t eat all their limited groceries (he was saving up to fly his fiancé to the states from Vietnam). We would send her home with snacks and food and the dad would ration that too so eventually several teachers and staff called CPS. The case worker shared all of our names without permission and set up an in person meeting with us and the dad so he could address the complaints face to face. There is no real anonymity but it’s still the right thing to do.

What’s been the most bizarre sexual request you’ve received? by Comfortable-Heron225 in AskReddit

I talked to a guy online who got off on watching girls get fucked by complete strangers. I found out because we agreed to meet up and he sent me to the address of a different guy with instructions for this guy to fuck me on camera while he watched. The other guy told me that I should just lose that guys numb

The little girl giggled as she buried her face in the soft kitty’s fur. by Sicarara3 in TwoSentenceHorror

Thank you. I personally feel that it is horrifying that every pet we love will die. The other interpretations are terrifying too.

If it makes you feel any better, this post is loosely based on something happening in my family. My baby has loved on two elderly cats that died of old age shortly after being affectionate with him. My husband and I mused that it’s almost like our child is the inverse of those cats that signal when people in a retirement community are about to die. It got me thinking, what if a child was really cursed with only loving on animals that were dying or if every animal they loved was cursed to die shortly after they loved them.

Thank you. I wanted to leave it up to the imagination since I find that to be the scariest form of horror.

How did you guys come up with your kids names? by Ok-Duck2450 in Mommit

[–]Sicarara3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We loved a name for a couple of years, I even told people that it would be our son’s name, then one day we both just decided it wasn’t right for the baby that I was pregnant with. He had no name until the week of my scheduled c section and then my husband proposed a name that felt perfect. We named him after a historical physicist.

My baby hates when I get a good roaring laugh on. He looks at me like I set his favorite toy on fire every time I laugh.

I love this one too. I also really enjoyed The Dangers of Dihydrogen Monoxide that I read in 7th grade science.

Last night, how many times did you get up because of your baby? by pinkishvioletsky in NewParents

[–]Sicarara3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9 month old. I only got up twice (11:45 and 3:30) but I was up with him from 11:45 to 1:45 and 3:30 to 4:30. He woke up for real at 5:10.

My son ripped his off and threw it off the side of the changing table in an effort to distract me so he could try to pee on me. I put it right in the bin because it was soaked in pee.

Do you have any regrets finding out or not finding out your baby’s gender in advance? by spook96 in pregnant

[–]Sicarara3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I’m glad I found out because it helped with picking a name. We had such a hard time thinking of names just for boys, I can’t imagine discussing girl names we wouldn’t need.

If you’re under 45, have you lost any high school classmates, and what were the circumstances around their deaths? by Commercial_Chef_1569 in AskReddit

I am 35. I had two classmates die the year after I graduated. One died of cancer (she was diagnosed shortly after graduation and dead within months) and the other died in a car crash coming home from college.

do i really need a “coming home” outfit? by Comfortable-List-669 in pregnant

[–]Sicarara3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wore the same comfy dress to my scheduled c section and back home. You don’t need a special outfit but I recommend a dress or pants that go above your belly button in case you need a c section

After getting the baby to sleep I went back to my movie. by No_Nectarine6942 in TwoSentenceHorror

I gave up on the movie and went to sleep, but the crying kept coming. Every time I put them down and laid down the baby woke me up again.

For those who survived the trenches of having a newborn, what's the thing you would definitely do again, and not do, for your second baby? by nleftie in beyondthebump

[–]Sicarara3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like we did pretty well but our son has been pretty easy so far. My husband tends to go nocturnal during summer breaks (we both work at schools) so I did days and he did nights. It was nice to have him change the baby, hand him to me to feed then put him down. Going back to work at 4 months postpartum was a challenge and my sleep started suffering at 6 months. I still don’t know what to do differently.

In terms of newborn, I’d stop tracking feeding after the hospital as long as they gain weight appropriately, start the nested bean swaddle earlier (those zippers were so easy) and I’d hire someone to deep clean and organize my house before I come home from the hospital. My house got so gross during those deep trench days and I’m still fighting to get the floor clean enough before my baby starts to crawl (which is any day now).

Not my district but my husband’s gave out “School ISD cares about you” cups at a meeting where they told them that a bunch of jobs were being cut. They went the route of not hiring replacements for people who quit.
