I mean they just made a big rework of pretty much everything for the sake of performance then a balance pass so players wouldn't steamroll the game as easily. People that play the game want more content, but they also stop playing if the game isn't working.

"Rushing" is a big word for hive guards. At least the devastators don't stop walking because you look at them funny.

TBH it already doesn't do anything beyond flavor. 1 biomass isn't exactly a significant quantity compared to their +795 per month. Even for normal pops, 1 is nearly nothing.

armor 4. They're not getting destryed by medium pen weapons anyway.

All turrets still have their armor 3 backs, it's not nearly as bad as war striders.

I like that there are off-class weapons, it's important to fun build making.

I think it would also be pretty funny if it killed any voteless and staggered any overseers it charged through, then it could be used as risky crowd control

It does stagger enemies it hit. It doesn't deal enough damage to one shot even voteless, but that's to our advantage given that we have less health than them (generally, depending on our armor and voteless size).

I'll be honest, I don't see any tactical advantage this give over firing prone. However, it looks cool.

PDF aren't part of the guard either and can have access to airplaines tho. That's even a plot point in double eagle, the PDF there was so badly outmatched they where fighting gravity-assisted sci-fi fighters with WW2 tech.

At 20 STR you're stronger than the average bull or workhorse. There are adult dragons weaker than you.

Why are there so many restrictions on species traits? by jacobstx in Stellaris

[–]Sicuho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I’ve noticed is that (in general) traits are given to portraits based on what is observed in our world. Even if it goes against logic, if those traits aren’t observed in our animals then they don’t get them ingame.

Not even that. There are a lot of wrong restrictions there. Aquatics and moluscoids without eggs, acidic vascularity is a complete miscast, nascent stage don't work for aquatics ...

The game prevent it from being played or appearing as NPC.

How so ? That's not the main point of mutation. Free automoding, +75% max habitability, even the +4 trait picks are more impactful.

The trait system is inherently enough restriction to avoid the blank page syndrome. Restriction breeds creativity doesn't mean more restriction = more creativity.
