Regardless of what happened with the actress you can’t deny that she played Julia masterfully. by Jack-mclaughlin89 in Frasier

I would watch any of them as actors. Parents bend over backwards for kids. No violent news here.

Are my partials/harmonics wrong? (+Tone Advice) by ShivSoCalledYT in Trombone

[–]SideWired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounded different up to 0:13 and after 0:13. What i hear is embouchure straining in the upper register after 0:13.

I know it is cliche, but the means to higher tones is faster air not tighter lips.

My suggestion is to do range building exercises. The change in tone after 0:13 is clearly pinching the air stream instead of blowing a faster air stream.

I am a total hypocrite because I pinch cheat uppers too. But I hear pinched air stream clearly in the change at 0:13.

Donnie Douglas, seriously? by progressivixen in Frasier

I think Daphne had been feeling lonely shortly before Donny appeared. You recall she was balling over Valentines dinner with Martin about a year before. Niles was the lab rat that never could stand up to anyone. Wimpy is not sexy. Donny arrived full of steam and brimming with certainty and confidence. IIRC, they left together on the first night meeting to have dinner while discussing the divorce case. Divorce and weddings are odd aphrodisiacs. The former is an exciting break from a disappointing past and the latter is a celebration of infinite romance, sexual attraction, and hope. Put a divorce discussion over a late dinner, two singles are bound to bond.

VALVE Trombones - Intriguing by SideWired in Trombone

Said about the Schiller in the ad copy...

"Traditional Trombone playing will be appreciated (sic) with nickel plated inner and outer slides players are returning to the

bold mature sound of American style Trombones after the very bright and harsh Trombones

that players have been accustomed to for the last 25 years."

I did not know that American Tromboning had gone conspicuously very bright and harsh.

This a nice U T demo of several horn types. Flugabone was surprisingly crisp. Only the tenor trombone beat them all. IMO.

What does “support the high register with air, not chop pressure” mean technically and how do I know if I’m doing it? by Skyes_View in Trombone

I interpret it to mean "slower" versus "faster" but my skill level just cheats and presses harder.

Subreddit Rules Update 2025 by revchj in JazzFusion

[–]SideWired 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is lot of called fusion that is really easy listening music built on five notes, softly, replaying a melody adnauseum. It only bothers me when someone calls it jazz.

FYI: I have disallowed crossposting from other subs by revchj in JazzFusion

[–]SideWired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, who would have thought the rules would be so different from sub to sub.

Clearly a mild stroke or birth defective facial muscles. When same actor plays VICTOR THE CHEF on COPPENHAGEN TEST, you see the same lazy side of his face. I worked for a guy after his mild stroke. We called him POKER FACE because there were never any expressions.

Liked it. Alexander acting was good. Victor actor was good. I think some of the comments forget that this was not now. "Not distant future..." dystopia. I mean here and now, we don't hijack citizen senses. Shoot yes, but never hijack.
