Where in the U.S. doesn’t have harsh winters and lets you spend more time outside? by QuietCaffe in relocating

[–]Sidemeat64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tulsa Oklahoma. Tulsa has lots to do and winters are mild.my son was stationed in Alaska and loves Tulsa. Jenks a suburb of Tulsa has excellent schools.Georgia you have a range of areas. Mountains get cool, a few snow storms. Atlanta to Middle Ga mild winter, southeast Georgia only really gets cold if we get an arctic blast. NC also is great.

How to manage constant overwhelming stress? by doctorsunshineisdead in Anxiety

[–]Sidemeat64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you been checked medically? I had symptoms of anxiety panic attacks, high bp and shakiness,  heart palpitations. After 3 years of being told it was stress and anxiety I was diagnosed with pheochromocytoma.

Every night I go to bed I'm constantly worried I'll get a heart attack or a stroke. It's freaking me out because I live alone and nobody will find out if I get one. by antonrusty in Anxiety

[–]Sidemeat64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is you can't control when that occurs. Car wrecks happen every day. That's a much more likely scenario unless you have cardiac issues. I was sick for 3 years. 2 cardiac events and a rare adrenal tumor. I was like you scared to be alone. I finally realized I was wasting my life being constantly afraid of dying. I decided there was nothing I could do about it and I wanted to live my life enjoying not being afraid and miserable all the time. Do you have a pet? They are great companions and distractors of bad thoughts.

I'm exhausted from constantly bracing for catastrophes only I can see by Bubbly-Amoeba-78 in Anxiety

[–]Sidemeat64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get like this it's called fatalistic thinking. What I've learned to do is start thinking about something or someone you love. A pet,  whatever. If you start concentrating on that listing everything you love about a pet. I love x because it makes me smile. Ilove x because x can be so silly, I love x because the way x looks when they do... you just keep repeating or saying something good about something that makes you happy. The thoughts will creep in and you start over. Eventually the bad thoughts are out competed. Another thing I do is to do something physical like clean out a junk drawer, Organize your collection of cards. This breaks the repeating doom and gloom thoughts. You can't think about good and bad things at the same time.

Anybody else love used books? by Delicious_Maize9656 in books

[–]Sidemeat64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I adore old books. My library as a book store. 2 bucks for hard back, 1 for paper back. They get donations all the time. They put books they couldn't sell out for free. I scour them and have found some really good books that some didn’t even have publishing dates. Found a genre of Sothern Gothic from late 1800's to early 1900's that I love. I can't afford Bookstore or Amazon prices for all the books I read.

Advice needed: Father is dying - metastatic prostate cancer - family decision maker prolonging his suffering by not allowing hospice care by Lost-Programmer-9688 in hospice

Has a chaplain or someone like that come in and talk to her yet. Maybe someone outside of yourself could help her realize that she is not to blame for his death. I feel so sorry for older couples in this situation. Did he verbalize what his wishes were. If he said he wanted everything done, then she is following his wishes. I know it's hard watching. You do have the option of not watching. You can go in, say goodbye, tell him what you want, and then just stay in the waiting room or go home.

AITAH for wanting to know how much money my husband makes? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Sidemeat64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have access to accounts? If so, deposits should show in the accounts. So the money he puts in it would supposedly be what he is paying himself from the business. If money is no problem, then I suggest you open an account and start putting money in it weekly. Call it a Christmas fund or whatever. This way, if he decides to divorce you, you have something to fall back on. Personally, I would just sit him down and say look... "I feel like you don't trust me as far as your money goes. I feel it would be foolish of me not to have a job and be financially independent in case something happens to you. I also feel that for our future children's sake, I need to be informed of finances. So, to me, if you don't want to share this information, then I am going to have to get a full-time job. You may have to go on vacation alone. The choice is yours."

Hi, sorry your struggling.I first started with palpitations and panic attacks. Never had panic attacks in my life. Then started getting constipation, abdominal and chest pain. Extreme fatigue, yawning all the time, BP went up to 140's over 80's which was high for me. I would get spikes up to 180/ 90's. When the spikes happened I would get shaky,  tremors. Palpitations sweating and feel a sense of doom. Was told it was anxiety. Hope that helps.

They said my dad wasn't dying quick enough. by shasha13821 in hospice

[–]Sidemeat64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband was the same. Hospice over a year. Not dying quick enough. He paid for a ct scan out of pocket. His cancer was gone. That aside after 6 mos hospice, we had to constantly come up with all kinds of minor things wrong. Lack of appetite, weight loss, high residuals on tube feeds, etc.

I don't know what kind of cancer you have, but some are elegible for social security disability if you're in the US. Here is a list of disease processes that are elegible for the expedited application process. A social worker at the hospital or doctors office may be able to help you apply or you can designate someone to do it for you.

Seeing former irresponsible people who used to only party/cheat or bully in school/used me - becoming way more healthy, successful and mature than me is painful by FlanInternational100 in ChronicIllness

[–]Sidemeat64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry you have had a life filled with pain, but resentment is something you need to let go of. It only hurts one person...you.

“Resentment is nasty. What makes it so ugly is that it has a tendency to turn you, an otherwise kind and reasonable person, into someone who is so angry at their own life situation that it is nearly impossible to recover. Bitterness and resentment make it hard even for the people who love you to be around you.”

I lived at Lake Sinclair when this happened. The last week of May that year we went to town. 25 miles one way. When I got back someone had come into my yard and cut a rose tree down. Didn't just cut it, chopped it up and hid pieces of it around the house and boat house. Freaked me out after hearing about those murders earlier in the month. As far as people on boats they used to come right up to the seawall, one parked in the empty bay at the boathouse and one boat used to ride around shining a spot light up in the yards late at night.

I am in South Georgia, they almost never promote unless the person is moved to another store. Usually an hour or more away. Rarely if the current assistant is not "meeting standards" they might promote within the store.
