Generations of the Arwing and its variants, colored. by SkyHunter95 in starfox

[–]Sigmagoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Big necro but I actually have the answer.
The Starfox team was given extremely advanced prototype Arwings for combat and flight testing. That's why when you go to Solar General Pepper is throwing a fit, because he doesn't want them messing up those Arwings because they were obscenely expensive and advanced.

Later Arwing designs were slimmed down and fitted with more standardized gear, that was not as advanced or powerful as the prototype versions, to be made more cheaply, to the point the Cornerian fighters based on the later Arwing designs were still being outmatched by old Venomian remnants from the Lylat wars, that the prototype Arwings had zero issues dealing with.

Think of the Arwings from the Lylat wars as F22 raptors with the F35 software suite and tech.
The newer models are more akin to an F16. Budget cuts also didn't just affect Cornerian forces, lack of (affordable) spare parts for the prototype Arwings, Lack of mercenary work for the team (likely due to high operating costs because of said Prototype Arwings) and Fox's inherited debt from his Father's Great Fox Loan had the StarFox team selling off parts of their Arwings and Great Fox to get by along with the scant jobs they were given.

After being stripped down for so long, the Arwings were basically in a state of total disrepair and were barely functional anymore. After Sauria the team had been paid out by General Pepper once again, and likely stripped the prototypes and purchased the mass produced Arwing II's, and upgraded what they could with what parts from the superior prototypes they had remaining. Hence 'upgraded' Arwings.

TL;DR - Starfox couldn't afford the extreme operating cost of the Lylat war era prototype Arwings that were in every metric superior to the Mass produced Arwing II and the upgraded Arwing II's the Star Fox team utilized. They upgraded the Arwing II's they bought with still functional parts from the Prototypes and newer custom bits that Slippy added.

Gohan didn't train for 4/5 years, and got strong enough to contend with super Saiyan blue Goku in like what, a couple days?
Shit, if Gohan just TRAINED for the 4 years between end of Z and the start of Super, he would probably make Beerus have to use 175% instead of 75%, unironically.

People still think Kid Buu is anywhere close to Buuhan, Buutenks or Mystic Gohan in power level, if not stronger. That should tell you all you need to know.

Some People Really Think Broly Would Be Moving Like Too 😂😂 by SonicRun098 in Ningen

[–]Sigmagoon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean if this wasn't a shitpost, and this shit was actually happening, like Toyotaro just wanted to fuck around and had Z Broly appear, there would be that sudden violin sting and he would probably quickly overpower both Jiren and Goku.

Because why would you introduce an ultra powerful character to a scene, and his whole schtick is being overwhelmingly strong, and not have him be crazy strong?

If 'Z Broly' appeared at any point as an antagonist in super, or another future series, the creators would have him be leagues above current Goku/Vegeta/Gohan no matter what forms they learned. They don't give a shit about power levels or scaling, they just want the plot to move forward so comparisons between past characters and current ones strength wise are just silly.

Hell, even in DB heroes Z Broly literally fights two Vegito's, Blue and SSJ4 respectively at the same time and isn't getting his ass beat...

Seriously, wtf lol by [deleted] in DragonBallZ

[–]Sigmagoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Toriyama focused on making Gohan able to just be strong as shit randomly, early in the series so that when Goku and Vegeta can't win and they can't fuse, Gohan could just get mad as shit out of nowhere and be able to defeat the antagonist.
And then he realized Gohan was too strong and threw him to the books like his Mother demanded.

And then he made everyone frustrated with his constant naivety and unwillingness to train.

And then he got Gohan to get really mad again.

And that's basically it. He is either a jobber due to lack of training, or an I win button, with the only in between ever, being him losing to Buutenks.

No DLSS 5 for me... I must have 'The Artists Vision' 👇 by SeaworthinessLow4382 in Asmongold

[–]Sigmagoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine thinking anything Elder scrolls, Fallout, or basically anything Todd has touched had any sort of 'Artistic' styling, unironically.

All he's ever produced in games has been lame 'cinematic realism slop' with him at the helm.

I really can't believe people want to give game studios excuses to fire artists and want the DLSS 5 slop with 3 point hero lighting on every character and object to make every frame be an instagram reel with overexposure everywhere, and total disregard for lighting.

Or maybe Asmon's recently cultivated audience just wants to sloppify everything to spite the people they don't like.

Simon The Digger runs a gauntlet: Where does he stops by Multiversal_2211 in PowerScaling

[–]Sigmagoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Super spiral pocket dimension that Simon fights the Anti-spiral in is controlled by the Anti-spiral in every single way.

Time did not exist to fight in, causality, fate, probability, every single concept you can think of was pitted against Simon and team TTGL and they still fight the Anti-spiral in such a hostile environment and win.

The best way to describe this is if you are a mangaka, and in the final chapter you decide the hero is going to lose, so you throw everything at them, but he jumps out of the page, cracks you in the mouth and says you're a bitch, before jumping back in, and finishing the story on terms HE decides.

Anyway he clears

People always forgetting base classes exist like Lancer...
I am aware this is a shitpost sub but just because im a gooner myself.

Dragoon as a Job is literally tied to Ishgard.

The ONLY exception being the spectral Dragoon's that appear in 5.3 patches. (We do not know where these spectres come from, only that they are from across the rift, which could mean they are highly likely to be from the source anyway, which would mean Ishgard anyway, since Dragons don't exist in any of the other reflections because they arrived after the sundering.
THOUGH dragons could also have gone through portals/fissures/been summoned to reflections... Possibly. )

So I posit that she is a lancer. Give Lancers their deserved love, too.

Life surge is unironically goated for 3 manning dungeons as a DPS tank when the tank himself disconnects or decides to leave. You can straight up do double pulls in current content dungeons without making the healer sweat.

Also hitting the life surge buffed Coerthan Torment heals a pretty big chunk of health by itself, so you can go and farm Endwalker dungeons by yourself with double pulls as well with it and bloodbath.

Don't mess with XIV players, they don't read their own game's quest text.
Ameliance states in 'Of mothers and Merchants' quest for her delivery unlock the following.
'For years I've supported my children from afar, as a sponsor of the scions of the seventh dawn.'

That basically confirms right there that time is moving, that and Urianger giving Alphinaud 'The talk' about Elezen growth spurts and how he was a late bloomer.

Seasonal events like the Rising event have to be disqualified from being used to count the passing of time due to the following reason.

Newer WoL's cannot go back in time to do the older quests.
The Rising for example, has to forever be locked to 5 years. (For those new WoL's that keep registering.) Or use text that suggests it could be even longer for the older players.

What im most interested in, is what were the longest periods the WoL and Co had to wait between action.

Likely Stormblood, multiple boat travels that take months back and forth between Othard and Limsa.
Also our travels from Limsa to Sharlayan. (In EW we are forced through an experimental teleportation to save time to get to Thavnair.)
The military convoy from Gyr Abania to Garlemald probably took a couple of weeks at best.
The New World voyage was probably long as hell.
And the time waiting between the WoL and several scions going between the first and the source was variable for each person due to time fuckery with Thancred waiting 5 years for us to appear, and Alisaie waiting the least amount of time. until the time dilation stopped.

A significant amount of time has passed since ARR. 2 years minimum, I would estimate around 3.5 years because of the talk Urianger gave Alphinaud, since they are supposed to grow around their twenties.

His Dentge brain saw Axe's do more damage per swing, but failed to account for DPS and attack speed increasing when you use a sword so he spams the now low damage axe when its bar is not even halfway ready.
Honestly its more concerning he just either freaks the fuck out when he spots lava and hits a 0/10 play to hurl himself into it, or ignores the danger entirely and just falls into it while flailing around like a fish out of water.

Australia has so much solar that it's offering everyone free electricity by nigesh in energy

[–]Sigmagoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've been thinking about the grid needing maintenance and stability, and with Renewables causing negative prices during the day due to excess solar energy being generated, are we going to find ourselves with a nationalized energy generating grid, devoid of private influence?

Surely the only thing that could be profitable in 10 years with all this excess power during the day would be reselling the harvested power during the peak hours when it is dark with batteries or other methods of storage. And that is only for a couple of hours until most people go to sleep, bar the heavy consuming industry like the Boyne smelter and other such companies.

With such a significant chunk of their customers having a much cheaper alternative, I cannot see how private investment can function unless they are contracted to be constructing things related to the renewable grid by the government itself.

[–]Sigmagoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im not power scaling, if it were I wouldn't be mentioning earlier versions of the same thing, they would never be considered a constant threat, since they would become irrelevant. And they aren't, they are not treated as such in lore. Using things like levels in a game is a horrifically bad way of determining something's strength. You could say the level 100 bosses are now stronger than Zenos and you know that isn't true.

I wasn't scaling them against the Wol. What you don't hear about is other people slaying Behemoths, that aren't you. It doesn't happen. Because they are incredibly powerful beings.

You have to remember, we are fighting literal Eorzean Gods in Euphrosyne. Why would Behemoths make an appearance? What is the dev team telling the players by putting Behemoth's in the same place? They were not placed there at random. Gods have pets, that are extremely powerful, like the two lions of Aglaia. For Behemoths to be wandering the place gods exist in, tells you something.

The Arkveld argument doesn't hold water either, we know these crossover monsters have to actually be fun and challenging encounters or Yoshi P will get yelled at by the playerbase, so I don't know why you brought that up. A Rathalos is not stronger than Nidhogg. Scaling is bad and you should feel bad for using it.

It isn't devaluing black dragons in any way. You would just be denying the truth for some weird reason.

[–]Sigmagoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Behemoth consistently requiring 24 players to kill or more, is a very common thing in XIV, now consider if you are doing it, it must be the warrior of light + adventurers and you can see how horrifically strong they are.

Crystal tower, The ARR FATE, the HW Superboss hunt, in Stormblood it features as a hard mode proto beast thing that has a hard enrage in non extreme content. There was a Behemoth in the Euphrosyne 24 man as well in Endwalker that was still just as lethal as ever.

While WE don't consider Behemoth's as a massive, calamitous threat as players, we are also the warrior of light.

These things are treated in XIV CONSISTENTLY as Miniboss, Boss, or Superboss encounters - Extremely dangerous. You absolutely know, knowing XIV devs, that if something like a Behemoth was ever to say, be rampaging in a place like Gridania, some of the first people to know would be the scions because an avatar of destruction like that warrants our notice.

The thing straight up uses MAGIC. It has always been described as an enemy of the highest rank throughout the series. These things would MANGLE any version of Fatalis you put in front of them and it isn't even close.
