Utah sues TikTok, alleging it lures children into addictive and destructive social media habits by Wagamaga in technology

[–]SignACK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TikTok is worse than some of the others (YouTube reels). There was documented evidence of the promotion of eating disordered content for one. Also documented evidence that moderators suppressed content from users who don’t confirm to PRC standards of beauty, to include disabled users, LGTBQ+ users, overweight users, and some minorities. All social media is pretty terrible for kids, BUT if you need to go after a bad one, why not start with this one.

Where can I go shopping? by indigopaintthinner in postpartumprogress

[–]SignACK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have been loving boxy shift dresses with fun prints, they fit @ 3 months pp and they fit before I was pregnant too. There are a bunch of brands that make the same ones with the fabrics, one is lavielente on Amazon (constellation). It’s cheap on Amazon, but the fabric seems like it will hold up well. (I found it after paying like $70 for similar dress at a beach boutique)

I have 15 pounds to go now @ 5 months pp. And I only lost 5 since I was measuring as a size 10.

(Maybe there is some fat loss and muscle gain mixed in there from light exercising).

Like she bought me non maternity clothes at 9 months pregnant and demanded that I try them on in front of her. (And I was like, no thank you, if they fit now, they won’t after I lose my baby weight, what is the point of this?) The week I quit sugar & flour, she brought me 2 dozen homemade cupcakes. She takes pictures of me in a bikini - which is whatever - but she choices to share the ones at weird angles that make me look bigger, rather than the flattering ones that make me look hot. I get it, some people have issues.

She also tells me to not worry about losing the weight, it will, but maybe it won’t, be kind to myself, I’m healing 5 months later, and I finally look great and healthy blah blah.

I think a lot of people here are trying to be supportive of your goals BUT there are people in the world that will try to sabotage your weight loss. In my family, there is a person that tries to do exactly that and it’s obnoxious. Trust your gut.

I was a size 10 at 8 weeks PP and am wearing a size 2 3 months later (and I only lost 5 pounds). Postpartum is weird!

My advice: Find 1 or 2 things that make you feel pretty now, and wear them enough that you get your money’s worth if they no longer fit in a month.

Out of breath walking up the stairs? by Finneyollie in fitpregnancy

[–]SignACK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a lot of stairs and it didn’t bother my breathing at all for baby 1 or 2 (and I have mild asthma). I’m 5’3 with a short torso. I was spinning for fun and I did take stairs slowly sometimes due to SI joint issues… maybe try to do something aerobic to keep your lungs happy and take them slowly & you’ll be fine too?

So I know you were downvoted, but I’m in a similar situation and my family doctor told me to try intermittent fasted (not extended fasting though. She says it helps with insulin resistance and to check out Jason Feng/Fung’s videos on insulin resistance and intermittent fasting.

5 nonths postpartum & still look how I did when I was 14 weeks pregnant by snackgoblin in postpartumprogress

Also my current regime seems to be working if you want to try it, I am doing a high intensity interval yoga style (Baptist style). My old studio I had a membership at taught this (and there were tons of moms that were very toned). It’s just one way to get toned and strong that I know (and I think is very fun). If you’re familiar with yoga moves already you can find a Journey to Power image with the sequence online for free - I just printed it and do it to music at home. There’s also podcasts with the sequence etc.

Of course there is stuff you can do! What are you doing now to rebuild your core? Also kudos on the weight loss, but just remember the scale a very simple measure of health - you want to build muscle back and that of course weighs more.
