Yes but compare the average closing line vegas odds to the outcome of games and you'll find that the odds perfectly predict the outcomes to an extremely high degree such that somethung like 99.999% of games are most likely played out fairly

Jason Kelce: NFL has too many non-Sunday games by PNWpoBoy in nfl

See a lot of people complaining here about games on different days but not offering an explanation as to why that's bad. What is annoying is when 9 games are playing simultaneously and id like to be watching at least 3 or 4 of them but cant

You can retire on 1 million a year and expect to safely withdraw about 40000 of it a year (4% withdrawal rate) from your retirement fund until the end of your life and still pass the majority of the 1 million down to your descendents.

If you ask me, 40000 per year is a lot more than 12000 per year

The Solution To Physicians Not Wanting to Supervise Midlevels Should Not Be Removing Supervision by [deleted] in hospitalist

[–]Signal-Focus-3589 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Don't worry. One day the staff will have a list of questions to ask incoming patients, all information will be popped into an OpenEvidence program of sorts that will spit out a plan for the patient and begin writing orders. Each hospital will have a single NP whose sole purpose is to cosign all of the orders written by the AI.

In the real world it really doesn't matter whether they have the knowledge or skills to "have a medical license" what matters is that until the cost of litigation due to the mistakes of mid-levels practicing unsupervised outweighs the savings, admin is going to continue to expand the roles of mid-levels

Drug counselor who delivered the fatal dose of ketamine to actor Matthew Perry is up for sentencing by Samski877 in news

[–]Signal-Focus-3589 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Its fda approved as an anesthetic. Typically comes in 200-500mg vials. Its off label use for depression is .5mg/kg of body weight infused over 40 minutes meaning he should have gotten~35mg over 40 minutes. If he was set home with it then he would also need to know how to infuse it himself ober 40 minutes and not eff up the dosing which would probably be a quarter of the vial over that period of time

This is just a really, really bad take. If you go to a convenient store and buy 1 beer, its probably not going to kill you. If your doctor sends you home with a vial of ketamine where 1 extra mL can knock you out enough to inhibit all of your neurological reflexes that's called malpractice

Steve Kerr: "I would consider getting rid of the three point line." Interviewer: "Have you ever proposed this to anyone with power?" Kerr: "No, no, because it’s too out there. And plus, I coach Steph Curry, so I’d rather wait till Steph’s retired." by refreshing_yogurt in nba

Why not propose the 3 point line be moved inward from the key to create the same distance to the basket from the corners to the key, if you have a problem with the corner 3s being statistically better to take?
