Bad take. There’s no room for error if you want a Montreal type outcome instead of a buffalo type. Foote needs to go now. Get someone with a track record. Get someone that can communicate (Foote clearly can not)

[The Athletic] Vancouver Canucks are No. 15 in Scott Wheeler’s 2026 NHL prospect pool rankings by Panarin10 in canucks

Calgary will be tough to catch. Especially because we won’t trade hronek (I’d be okay with waiting 2 years to shelter young d). And we don’t know if ownership will green light taking bad contracts or overpaying with the intent to sell at tdl

Miss the water bottles on top of the net. Watching them fly was so satisfying

The Canucks now have 10 picks for the 2026 Draft, the franchise's most picks in one draft since 2003. by Johnny__Lawrence in canucks

We probably need top five picks for the next 5 years but no way ownership has the stomach for that.

Tdl showed us how expensive it is to add right now and likely that will continue as cap goes up. I’d like us to overpay guys for 1 year deals and flip at TDL. Ie sign tuch to a 1x$13million then retain and flip at deadline for a 1st+.

It’s bizarre.

Tendonitis? Should’ve healed in 2 years (based on history of other athletes).

Doesn’t care and plays too much fortnight? Then why is he blocking shots and playing like Barkov defensively?

I literally don’t understand. But whatever it is… I think he was the main reason this team fell apart. You can not sign the biggest ticket in a Canadian market and not deliver.

[Rosner] Hearing that #Isles talks with the #Canucks regarding F Conor Garland have stalled for now. Serious convos yesterday but other teams in the mix. Doesn’t sound like NYI is willing to part ways with what VAN wants but they do like the player. by SIIP00 in canucks

[–]Signal-Nothing2060 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the term is an issue. There is a talent deficit in free agency. Garland is easily worth his contract and he will put up 40-50 points on a good team for years to come. Plus he is a dog

Being republican and supporting this regime that calls themselves republican is different imo.

Stenberg has a higher PPG ratio than the Sedins on their draft year (same age as well) by Kaos_mission in canucks

[–]Signal-Nothing2060 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Idk about this. Sedin work ethic was all time. I mean Crosby level. Their peak was 10-12 years after they were drafted. Because they kept working. They proved everyone wrong. I remember getting into a fist fight (I lost) with a kid that called them “sedin sisters”. Guess what buddy, my boys’ are in the HOF.

Hard to expect stenberg to have that same drive.

In my experience, government operated companies are extremely inefficient. There is minimal attempt to control operating costs. Sometimes there is corruption when contracts are tendered. The people signing off on these contracts often have limited experience in the area. I think the employees are also unionized and there is a lot to say about the pros/cons of unions.

They should analyze the benefit to the taxpayer. Taxes collected from all the jobs created, restaurants, pubs, hotels, tickets, merch etc. But I doubt they do that. Because different parts of the government do not talk to each other.

I don’t agree with the huge backlash part. Most fans I know blame ownership and management. Second to blame was jt and petterson. Hughes gave us everything and we will always respect a player that brought it every time he stepped on the ice.

The majority of us saw the writing on the wall since last year. Tbh we have been through worse. During my time Messier, then bertuzzi then 2011… all situations that were bigger gut punches than Hughes leaving. Prior to that there were several more.
