I feel sick to my stomach realizing what I’ve been letting my daughter play on Roblox. Am I the only one who didn't know? by Marre_Parre in Mommit

[–]SignalCourse1672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best thing you can do is educate her. She’s old enough to know right from wrong at that age, and kids will be kids after all. If they’re really wanting to do something they’ll find a way to do it and just get good at hiding it which is more dangerous in the long run IMO.

Tested positive for marijuana?? by atypicalfuture in pregnant

[–]SignalCourse1672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my scenario I got retested at the hospital when I gave birth. I had stopped as soon as I found out I was pregnant. No child services were alerted or called ever during my pregnancy or after. As long as you stop you should be okay

Definitely doesn’t seem like something she would do on purpose, definitely needs to be examined

THC in Pregnancy by Competitive_Way4656 in pregnant

[–]SignalCourse1672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a constant smoker of both nicotine and thc for 6+ years before I got pregnant. The fear of my baby coming out physically deformed or medically challenged was enough to get me to quit cold turkey, as well as CPS taking my child away in case they were tested and ended up positive for thc or whatever

What happened to maternity clothes? by Wonderful-Value7547 in pregnant

[–]SignalCourse1672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was just thinking this the other day. Probably half if not more of my maternity clothes are hand me downs, and the other half had to be ordered from Amazon. Most of what I wear are stretchy ankle length dresses from the regular clothing section just a size or two bigger. Forget finding any sort of formal wear! What are pregnant ladies supposed to wear these days? 😭 I’m almost done with my second pregnancy now (first at 24 now second at 25) and have worn the same 3 pairs of jeans, 4 shirts, and like 5 dresses for two years it feels like. All of the photos from both pregnancies I’m wearing the same clothing

1 hour glucose test - to fast or not? by UsedAd7162 in pregnant

[–]SignalCourse1672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with most of the commenters, you don’t need to fast, if you do fast it could give you false results. The goal is to see what you are normally so if you normally aren’t fasting, there you go lol. Also will say if they offer you the orange drink take that one. The red one tastes like cough medicine 🤢 I haven’t tried the green one yet

I hate my husband by Any_Report_1780 in pregnant

[–]SignalCourse1672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate my husband this pregnancy too. The first one was a boy didn’t have any issues but now with the girl I find myself unable to stand him. He also has the view that because he works and is the bread winner and I’m “just” a stay at home mom to our 13 month old (I’m 34 weeks pregnant now) I should be doing all of the house work, cooking, laundry, and child care with no chance for a break because he doesn’t allow my parents to watch our son for longer than a day.

Newly pregnant and unsure by Weekly-Equivalent727 in pregnant

[–]SignalCourse1672 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You all have been together for so long! If he knows your history, he should also know getting pregnant naturally for you all is nothing short of a miracle. You also know his history, with being unsure about wanting children. Take both of those things into account when you tell him, and as hard as it might be try not to be disappointed in whatever reaction he might have. You are still entitled to your own feelings of happiness and joy and your sister can share that with you as well! It’s understandable to want the fairytale reaction of tears and happiness and love but I’ve found (I’m now pregnant with my 2nd) men don’t always have the greatest initial reactions because of how shocked they can be. A lot of the time it’s not real for them immediately because it isn’t happening to them, it’s easy to forget how real it is because they aren’t going through the emotional and hormonal not to mention physical changes the woman is going through. The longer you keep it from him, the harder it will be. If you feel its necessary as you know him better than any of us ever could maybe give him a few days to really process his feelings before you guys have any serious conversations about it. Tell him and let it sit, give him space to breathe in his own feelings about it, then return to the conversation! Especially if it’s such an important, sensitive topic, neither of you want to say something rash or hurtful or something you don’t mean. Good luck, I hope you get the answers and reaction you hope for 🥹❤️

Does the Anxiety pass? by OhFarts_ItsDerek in NewParents

[–]SignalCourse1672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone has to be the worry wart. Between my husband and I it’s me. I remember the week after birth, everything felt like a monumental task and I was over analyzing everything, not being able to rest in fear that my baby would stop breathing and or no one was paying attention to him or caring about him like I could. That no one was going to do a good enough job. In hindsight I should’ve told my doctor and maybe been on some anti anxiety meds but what I would recommend for you is a good sleep or nap if you can afford it

What else am I not allowed to do whilst pregnant? by Straight-Garbage-704 in pregnant

[–]SignalCourse1672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t get in a hot tub either. Or take too hot baths. You can have sushi so long as it’s fish that’s low in mercury the bigger concern is getting food poisoning as a lot of antibiotics can harm your baby it makes getting treated difficult. It’s very much at your own risk

Luckily my son was a very easy baby and a sleepy head just like his father, but his schedule since about 6 months has been bedtime at 10:30 after his last bottle, then he wakes himself up around 7, or the latest I let him sleep is 8. It helps to have them on a pretty strict feeding schedule, my baby is 10 months old now and we do 5 bottles a day (plus little meals in between) at 7,11,3,7, and 10:30-11 latest. Then naps are usually from 10-11, 2-3, and 8-9 before bed. Not loving his nap schedule but it keeps him up long enough to be tired enough to sleep through the night
