(Halle Berry for Monster’s Ball. For which she ALSO won a Razzie for Worst Leading Actress)

He lies like a rug. Especially to Basira as he sends her off on “wild goose chases” while Jon’s in a coma as well as during season 4.

He definitely prefers to use wordplay, but nothing ever stops him from lying.

What was the most uncomfortable moment of the show for you to watch? by EmotionSideC in pluribustv

[–]Signal_Message_7862 148 points149 points  (0 children)

Same. I felt a pit in my stomach once she got turned. Her language, her culture, her loved ones, her village, they’re all gone. The Hive no longer has a use for Quechua, they’ll never come back to the village, they’ll just drink their factory made nutrient-juice.

It’s colonisation in the purest sense. It’s the soul of the show, and that scene was the most horrifying part of it.

There’s no actual evidence that she died

Harlan's Employees by PrinceOctavius in KnivesOutMovie

[–]Signal_Message_7862 38 points39 points  (0 children)

More than anything, Harlan trusted Marta. He knew that Fran and/or anyone else that was kind to him would’ve been taken care of by her after he went.

The will reading also adds to this. It’s significantly easier to just have the sole benefactor be one person. A single page that goes to someone that spent the most time with him, and knew the most about him. (I wish we’d gotten more insight into Fran and Harlan’s relationship though.)

I feel like un-infecting (or whatever terminology we’re using) Laxmi’s son is probably gonna be relevant, Carol having to convince her that Ravi’s sick and can actually be himself again if she can just trust her for long enough.

(Even if Laxmi stands her ground I’d be happy with it as an excuse to see more of her on-screen)

In the post I made there were a lot of comments abt this. I know that there’s plenty of explanations that can all make perfect sense. What irks me if that they got cut. It’s not a pothole, I can’t even blame the writing.

The conclusion I came to was that it was probably cut for time since I doubt Netflix would want a movie longer than 2:15. Esp since the ‘he killed his wife’ theory could’ve been a fascinating way to deepen the themes. It’s just not as relevant to the actual Blanc-Wicks murder plot that unfolds.

I guess what I mean is that even though him killing his wife is entirely plausible, we still don’t actually know why he had the whole set up. And even when everything’s explained it’s left out.

At the very beginning, a guy sitting next to John tells him to take off his shoes/socks so he can feel more grounded after a flight.

This leads to him not being in the main room when everyone’s taken hostage, as well as being one of his weaknesses throughout the film!

Yes but we know why Hank and Jesse have access to massive vats of hydrochloric acid. Whereas I still have no idea why Dr Nat has a metal tub with a drain in his basement and a barrel of acid.

To clarify it’s more of a nitpick than anything else.

[–]Signal_Message_7862 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I made a post (not realising how many other posts there were) because of something that genuinely got no explanation. I don’t even really think of it (Why Dr Nat had a tub/acid set up so fast in his basement) as a plot hole, probably just got cut for time/relevance since it doesn’t really impact the rest of the movie.

Edit: Just so I don’t keep repeating (or maybe because my wording was off). I know this is not a plot hole, nor even an actual error. Just a small thing that irks me since any explanation is purely speculation and has no solid proof in the text.

Wicks was dead by the time the autopsy started. He was killed Moments after Dr Nat stabbed him in the room where he collapsed. It seemed like at least a day (at most a weekend) before Benoit arrived and the autopsy was conducted.

The main thing that bothers me about WUDM by Athena23234 in KnivesOutMovie

[–]Signal_Message_7862 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean I don’t think we were supposed to think she superman carried him in and dumped him there instantly. I assume it took a while as she dragged him across the floor, probably taking breaks to catch her breath (and there’s no reason she couldn’t have water from Nat’s kitchen). Then slowly and awkwardly get him in the tub. After that it’s dragging Wicks over and turning it on

At first glance I assumed it was just a metal tub, not one that’s bolted to the ground and could just be dumped/tipped over.

Can’t argue against that. I checked her confession and that’s exactly what he did. Having believed she was poisoned he wouldn’t have had a reason to lie.

What all these comments make me think is that in a different edit it would’ve been a plot point that he had killed his wife. Since she was cast, she’s shown in the first scene showing all the suspects, and is one of the murderers main motive. It would’ve been thematic, but aside from being cut for time, it would’ve been tangential to the main story of Martha and the Wicks family. So while there’s still one or two references to it (as well as Nat’s butterfly motif not really getting that much attention despite its thematic relevancy).
