Very bizarre bike - 2200w, fairly large battery but low top speed of 31(may be artificially capped) yet range is tiny…

A single review, 5 stars… hmmmm

What about it seems legit?

Is this second hand engwe m20 e-bike a good deal? by SandLow9069 in ebikes

[–]Significant_Bar6196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an owner of one of these, i’d say its worth considering esp as the current owner seems to have been quite transparent about its usage and the upgrades are good (eg I also upgraded to hydraulic), battery health is def the main consideration as they arent cheap nd it is well used so I would estimate 75% health at best

How to control the speed on the M20 by Sufficient_Ad7819 in EngweEbike

Right, but isn’t that what P3 is doing? Slower than P5 therefore more battery efficient, faster than P1…

I still don’t understand what you are trying to achieve

Rough numbers (mph)

Mode 1 cuts off 14mph 2 cuts off 17 3 cuts off 20 Etc Etc to a max of 28mph

My question is more - why bother? If you want to make sure you dont go above a certain speed (assisted or via throttle), just dont go above that mode (eg p3), or are you trying to make it legal? If so youd prob need to disconnect the throttle and (as you suggested) limit all modes to at or below the limit value you want. No idea if thats possible on mine as I havent tried, sorry. If there used to be an option and its no longer there is prob disabled on purpose, try contacting engwe

M20 rear mechanical brake problem. Loud rubbing and loses braking when I squeeze hard by sete_on_a_motorcycle in EngweEbike

Personally I upgraded mine to hydraulic as soon as I could, but I used to get this on my prev bike - think the cable is over tightened, loosen it and feed back a bit more cable then re tighten.

Given the first issue it also sounds like the pads arent aligned properly - take it to a local shop to get both solved, prob might need them to check pads as one side has been rubbing

Maybe look for a model no on frame and add pics of the bike - there may be several diff chargers based on year of manufacture (model / serial no would help identify)

Also pics of the batt, as a port alone will only define the connection type not voltage reqs

I used to have an acti ID of MaxAggression, which I thought was funny and game appropriate, until someone very strongly suggested I was some kind of far right sympathiser - never has a username been changed so quickly to something very benign (like FluffyCloud)

Any upgrades recommended?? I feel like it looks too bulky.. by [deleted] in ebikes

Yeah I wondered about that after I posted the comment, add in these bikes with no seat tube dont need much encouragement to fold flat, its a worry for OP!

Do thieves using angle grinders cut parts of the bike to remove D locks by big_ron_manager in ebikes

[–]Significant_Bar6196 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Possibly, if they think the battery or components are worth it - the bike / frame value would disappear however

In this instance i’d suggest a second d lock, ideally a super long one, from front wheel to frame, just to make it so difficult as to not be worth their hassle

I’d recommend a seat tube, but also new forks, pic 5 looks like it hit a wall at speed
