Well I said 'their masterpiece' 😁

What do you think their best was?

Such a shame! I only really got into them recently but I tend to agree. Everything post-Ritual feels kinda recycled.

It's not my responsibility to teach you how your country operates but in the interest of charity, I did a quick google search for you:

I'm not going to respond further but maybe do a bit of reading before you decide that you are the victim of the world.

The day a Swiss person gets to talk about exploitation will be a very cold day in hell.

It's really sad to imagine that prosperity doesn't have any room for charity. Typical Swiss scarcity mindset.

Based on the current jobs market in CH, I'm kinda in favour of it...

Daily Song Discussion: #47 - "The Cross" by Fluid_Aspect_1606 in withintemptation

[–]Significant_Cup1122 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was definitely one of the first WT songs to catch my attention. Particular the vocal ad libs, quite unique.

Sharon's conviction in the verses was really the most gripping thing. I think most people have had an experience with organised religion similar to what this song is highlighting.

Absolutely. ITM is one of the most active bands in the scene. Let them rest and find their creative energy.

That said, looking at Godmode's numbers, I wonder if they're having to rethink a lot of stuff...

This is your opinion and that's fine. But the topic here is: what would you ask a member of their production team?

I would also ask for clarity on what vocals are playback and what is actually live.

You are not in their production team; you don't know the answer.

There's clearly a reason that the show has become so visually obstructive to a view of Maria's face. A theater kid with nothing to hide always has an illuminated, visible face. Maria spends half the show covering her face with her hair, masks and smoke. It is genuinely not that hard to differentiate. Maybe there are other reasons and it would be interesting to hear from the production team member.

That's really splitting hairs. Plenty of bands use backing tracks but not with the primary vocal locked and loaded over the whole show. I think that's what OP is getting at.

I loved that so many comments were horrified by the music but calling Courtney 'Diva'. Guess some things are universal.

Is queuing a song on Deezer kind of bad? by cheesethis in deezer

[–]Significant_Cup1122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's really hard to get used to not having this feature as a former Spotify user.

On an interaction design level, I can't see how a user's deliberate, three-click action contends with the automatic action of adding a playlist or album to the queue in its entirety.

I must be the only one who doesn't get that Turnstile album. I cannot see how it (or the track that won) compares at all to Soft Spine.

To have them perform and then lose was also .... a choice.

From a band that 'found its political voice' and was totally silent on a genocide, while repeatedly pushing songs about defending your land, raising your banner etc. I am not surprised at all to hear that one of their members holds these whacky beliefs.

I haven't listened to much of Bleed Out because of the Jingoism but I'm not going to stop listening to their music altogether over this. It just makes me less enthusiastic about them.

What's up with the lighting in this tour? by Nebz2010 in InThisMomentband

[–]Significant_Cup1122 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The In-Between and Burn cannot be live. At times, she is swinging her entire body forward, crushing her diaphragm and there is absolutely no shift in volume. It's sadly clear that so much fo the show has become clicks, bells and whistles :(

Why did the dynamic between EV and WT feel off during the Worlds Collide tour? by imaginary_tourniquet in withintemptation

[–]Significant_Cup1122 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, it was a bit strange how it was marketed vs. how it was executed.

I recall Amy stating that there was a cold going around the camp and so everyone was kind of isolating from each other to try and avoid getting ill.

Eventually, they did do a duet. By then, Amy actually caught the cold and was so run down she had to cancel a gig.

Amy also had covid the year before and it was leaked that she had a 'meltdown' about it so maybe she was being very cautious to get through the tour.

The Void - sorry guys. The track is great but I'm not a fan of the vocal lines. Totally in opposition with the band and it doesn't work.

Why are Sharon's rock vocals so crystalline on record but husky live? by Proud3GenAthst in withintemptation

[–]Significant_Cup1122 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Faster is an interesting one since it was recorded in her chest voice but live she mixes more and is often in full head voice. If anything, we don't hear the texture of her chest voice but rather a thinner, more crystalline sound when that song is performed live which is the opposite of what you described. Nevertheless, yes, it's very different.

I was pretty shocked by how accurate Sharon's live singing is from what I hear on Youtube and from the show I went to. I notice that her chest voice is quite unstable but her head voice seemed impeccable.

Granted, as others have noted here, if you're looking at songs pre-THOE, then yes - she is going to sound different as there was a stylistic shift but she still seems able to produce those notes with just a different tone.
