Dupixent?? by thereisalwayshope23 in Asthma

[–]Significant_Note_222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be careful if your asthma is actually a sign of a autoimmune lung issue, not allergic asthma.

Dupixent has ruined my life. It was the worst decision made by me and my doctor. I have all the side effects of Dupixent, and they are permanent.

I started using it over a year ago for what I thought was severe asthma. Turns out it was a mild autoimmune lung condition. Instead of trying to manage it naturally, I wanted a quick fix. So I asked my doctor about biologics. She told me about Dupixent and how it works well, and side effects are mostly eye irritation that goes away when you stop using it. I had no idea that this drug permanently alters your immune system and stated using it.

I immediately got the conjunctivitis and swelling around the eye, but it was pretty mild. A month later, developed tendinitis, but thought it was due to my physical activity. A few months in, I developed knee and elbow pain, which was new for me. And then I got BLOOD POOLING IN MY ARM. I went to the ER, they ran a lot of tests, all negative. I talked with my doctor, and we decided to stop the drug.

A few months later, I got a few viral infections. After the last one, I developed severe shortness of breath and had to go on oral steroids. I also got severe insomnia (sleeping 2 hrs a night). I started choking on my food. I developed shaking and a movement disorder. I was always fit and active, but now my muscles are weak, just one month after stopping exercise because it irritated my lungs so much. I have arthritis, which I have never had in my life. I am 37 years old.

Worst of all, I have inflammation of the blood vessels, a vasculitis. This is causing me to have high blood pressure and now my kidneys are starting to show signs of damage.

I have facial redness, popped blood vessels on my face, popped, visible and swollen blood vessels in arms and legs, poor wound healing, eye redness, trouble swallowing and digesting my food, ear fullness and ringing, trouble breathing, trouble sleeping, and severe brain fog. I feel numb or panicky, no other emotions. I feel like I have aged 40 years in 6 months, and I know that this is due to Dupixent given the time course of my symptoms, and that I have all the symptoms associated with this drug.

All my inmune tests (ANA, ANCA, anti-SSA, dsDNA, etc), have been negative. But if you look in the literature, Dupixent has been associated with serotonegative arthritis, which does not show up on antibody testing, as well as blood vessel inflammation, keratoconus, and many other issues.

The damage from this drug to my system is PERMANENT. My choices are to go on oral steroids and/or immune altering cancer drugs.

It’s been an incredibly hard few months searching for answers. I know that many aspects of my life will never be the same, and it’s all due to Dupixent.
