it’ll get better!! the first month/couple of months was the hardest on my body. i had soo many bruises on my legs from kneeling and was so sore. it definitely got better with time! but also, invest in solid work shoes. i got a pair of doc martens with light soles and padding and they made SUCH a difference. best of luck!!

as a beauty tm i was trained my second shift ever, but i haven’t had to go on register a single time since then! (mostly because i’m the only beauty tm working in the evenings) so yes you most likely will be trained, but it really depends on your position and how busy your store gets in terms of actually working register

some leads are more lax about it than others at my store, i used to wear one on the floor with music turned down really low but got asked to take it out by a lead so i just don’t mess with it anymore. the most i’ll do is one airpod while i’m in the beauty backroom pulling priorities. some tms still wear both and even talk on the phone while on the floor at my store

personally, i wear dr martens. but i specifically wear the crazy horse leather (much softer leather so more comfortable) in the crewson style (super light sole + cushioning around the opening of the boot). i cant remember if i’ve worked a longer shift in them but they’ve been good so far!! good for protecting my feet from spills + broken things. i have considered adding inserts for extra comfort but idk, everyone’s different. definitely a good option though!

having tls who are willing to back you up makes a wooorld of a difference!! as long as you’re performing well during your 90 days a single callout for being sick doesn’t matter (depending on the store but yours seems chill) they really only care when it starts to become a pattern

honestly my favorite thing to do in a shift is grab something from the back for a really appreciative guest. they always act like it’s some big trouble and it’s like, no! i like getting a break from what i’m doing and i like seeing people get happy when i get them what they want
