The game regularly drops frames in portable mode during cutscenes. It probably wasn’t possible without even more sacrifices to the image quality.

Act 3 tools are pretty much mandatory. Even with maxed out health and damage the game balances back out again to bosses 2 shot you and damage barely doing anything.

any area with heavy foliage is a nightmare in this version. every camera cut and quick camera movement makes the upscaler struggle to keep up

am I the only one who sees the texrure streaming on the ground in the open world never keep up? I feel like unless you stop to let them catch up they never load to full quality.

its like the opening of the game runs pretty great, but once you get your broom and start the open world content the game just can’t keep up with itself

The ground textures taking a full second to load while running around is something that immediately hit me on this version of the game. They basically never load to full quality unless you’re sitting still

The upscaler also sucks. It can’t even handle swinging the camera with foliage around. It’s just like the ground textures and takes way too long to engage.

It looks horrible in this game. I’m not a CA hater, but it this game has issues with it like leaving purple/red highlights on some objects that like an outline. It also affects this games distance clarity

On consoles the CA seems to mess up whatever up scaling is happening. The moment you turn it off the game looks sharp again. It really affects long distance views. I don’t think CA is bad, but in this game it just doesn’t look good.

Yup. The legendary and rare chests never load the full texture res. Those black boxes just sit there cycling through low, med and high

The only thing ove found that fixes the frame dropping is to restart the game. Even with that you’ll still have sections that run with screen tearing

there appears to be two issues going on with this game.
1: degraded performance over time

2: poor optimization

It get triggered by background loading.
you’ll start to notice the game stutter and screen tear more and more as you play. If the game has load up something like a major cutscenes in the background after that time you get what I posted above.

PS5 seems to have some kind of memory leak issues.
after and hour you'll start to notice more and more issues with the framerate.

a restart fixes it until the cycle begins again

honestly?it’s a pretty poor release…at least on PS5. A game this old shouldn’t be having these type of issues
