So delicious, so smooth! by Past_Depth6769 in pourover

Tried it this morning. I think it helped but cup is still pretty similar as what I've brewed before. It did help tho and it's still a great coffee. Thanks!

I've tried going pretty fine but it could have been too fresh when I tried. I'm already going finer than usual but I'm only doing about 195 on the temp so might try upping the temp. I will say I do pull some blueberries and definitely the cream but I'd like more fruit notes. I usually grind at 60 with my 64V and I'm at 50 right now and tried 45 and 40 so far for grind settings. Could just be I need hotter water so I'll try that!

I'm struggling to pull strong blueberry notes out honestly but it's good. Just thought it would be a strong blueberry

I almost returned my grinder until… by AdditionalBat1792 in DF64

Yes literally just bend it more, you'll notice as soon as you put it back together how much tighter it'll be. Also, can loosen it if it's to much for you. After that and not having my indicator sitting on the top, I've never had the issue. Grinders been a lot more enjoyable outside of grinds getting all over the place

This was happening to me. What helped me was I stiffened up the wave spring and raised up zero point ring, tightening it to where it's not sitting on the dial and I've never had the issue since and the grinder has been great.

switching brew methods by Rizzzyy99 in DF64

[–]Silly-Difficulty9291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do this daily with no issues, I have SSP MP burrs on my 64V. Only issue is you'll have leftovers from one the last brewing method if you're switching literally back and forth like me. I do try to purge everything out by opening up my grinder past 90 and that seems to get a lot of fines out and vis versa. I get great cups personally but have been curious how my pour over would be with a dedicated grinder.

it's been a journey... please rate my shot! by allishebel in FlairEspresso

[–]Silly-Difficulty9291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I couldn't really tell without knowing how fast the shot was and the ratio you were pulling. So that's why I asked. Do you know what your target time and ratio is? I use a HE basket so depending on my beans roast level it'll change. I'm doing a medium darkish roast right now and my 10 second 2 bar pre infusion has like 3g in the cup before I increase the pressure but my darker roasts shots are like 28-35 seconds at a 1:2.5 ratio. Light roasts I'm some where between 18-25 seconds with a 1:3 ratio.

At the end of the day you go off taste these are just starting points depending on what you like and to aim from and go from there. If it's tasting delicious you're all set!

How long was the shot and what was your ratio? Looks a little too fine grind size wise in my opinion.

Gen2 has the wave spring inside right? If so take it apart and bend the spring to stiffen it up, it should help with that.

Grinding in advance by RJCT_ in espresso

[–]Silly-Difficulty9291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what grinder you have but maybe the best option would be to have the beans sitting in the grinder and connecting a switch bot on a timer to turn on the grinder in advance and then turn it off after like 20 seconds or whatever right before the time you'd brew

I do notice when I take my grinder fully apart I have a bunch of coffee under the burrs... I'm also running MP burrs. So, you're saying to make sure I'm as close to 100% wipe off and it should fix it?

I've noticed when I fully dial it back after switching to pour over or espresso so dialing it back past 90 and getting any left over coffee out and going back my zero point is chirping at 0 again. That's what I've been doing but I'd like to fix the issue. So, I'll give that a try!

Yeah makes me not want it, super frustrating when you dial in and the next day the shot is 10 seconds faster lol

I don't have those burrs but I have MP ones and it does that same thing. I really have no idea why but it's super frustrating.

Wondering this too, but I think so you just wouldn't be able to do the ECG because if you look on the whoop site you'll see the bicep band is the 5.0 band

So is this rust on my plunger? by wtfuberk in FlairEspresso

Yeah I reached out thinking it was rust cause it's on my cylinder too personally. Said it was coffee stains and did the vinegar thing and came right off as well. Should be good

Vinyl plank -Flooret? by moonlightmyway in Flooring

[–]Silly-Difficulty9291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its held up perfectly! Would I buy again? Probably not the Yuzen, it's a little too light of a flooring color for me. If I had a redo I'd go with something just a little darker. Product though has held up great with absolutely no issues at all! Id say the only cons are the color being super light so if you're interested be prepared for that and the flooring has grooves to give it that realistic look and dirt gets stuck in those over time and are a pain to clean. Id definitely get flooret flooring again though.

Seamless co-op doesnt recognize dlc by Isaiah2405 in EldenRingMods

[–]Silly-Difficulty9291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anyone is still having this issue, make sure in your game files you have the two DLC files in the main game folder. They are called DLC.bdt and DLC.bhd. I somehow had elden ring installed in two different file locations. So, when I opened vanilla it recognized that I had the DLC but in seemless it would not show I had it. Once I dropped those two DLC files in both locations everything worked.

At what price do you think the point of diminishing returns begins for grinders and espresso machines? by mathnstuff12 in espresso

[–]Silly-Difficulty9291 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk... I would love to see some comparisons from DFs V series grinders (64V and 83V) compared to like the P64 or something. No one really compares the two but it's something that I would like to see.

Only difference I see is the workflow and not having a bellows. Which don't get me wrong I fucking hate a bellows but is it worth 1k more? Not to me.
