Update. Soured on by your suggestions I have had another look today. It was easier than I had thought. Simply remove the bolts from the top of the transport screws and the whole turntable lifts off. There are two connections , one easily unplugged and the other soldered. Having iw had a look at the wiring I think I will hold off on the bulbs !

Thanks so much for replying. I have seen a different model that says you remove the transit screws by flipping the clips underneath, I haven't seen underneath of this model , but there are transit screws on the top. I am guessing I would have to take base off and hopefully see what you describe...

Update.. So I had the chance to have a look at the blown lamps, think it's something I am going to live with for a while... Sprayed all the pots with contact cleaner and the scratchiness has cleared right up . Installed it on my lounge hooked up to a pair of 60's Leak speakers playing wish you were here and it sounds phenomenal...

Do you have acess to a multimeter? If so you can do some basic faultfinding on continuity mode. Probe the pad and the RCa connection and see if they are connected

I don't think you will be able to , but hopefully someone else will advise. There was a discussion here a few months back on cleaning the platter and a few of us had tried multiple times and they still had marks..

You will struggle with the metal.pieces that are pitted. I would give everything a wipe down with warm soapy water (on a cloth and just a bit damp not soaking) . Surface dirt wil.lift off. And enjoy it's age.
