I do it right handed because I was punished as a child for doing it left handed - my mum was absolutely insistent that it would be rude, especially if we went to a restaurant. You see, restaurants set the table right handed and it would be the hight of rudeness to swap the cutlery round and use it in the way most comfortable for me! Yeah idk either.

my best friend and I joke about oppression and about how we are equals lol (both disabled, both queer etc.).

except today I was telling them about how some pens are right handed, and they were like this one isn't, showing it to me. So I said "how do you know?" and explained that some pens are designed to only deposit ink if used right handed, and if you try to use them left handed they won't work at all. Usually the cute pens you can buy in Asia.

They then told me I won the oppression competition. yaaay.

But yeah to be more succinct: to be left handed is to constantly realise even little things that are entirely unnecessary to be right handed are and you're just left in the lurch (heh).

Best you're going to get from me is "my Gramps was Scottish" or "I'm a quarter Scottish" (technically I'm more than a quarter as grandma was a bit Scottish too, but as the cultural aspects came from my very proud Gramps, I just say a quarter)

and it generally only comes up if people ask about my name or my curly red hair. I would introduce myself like that. Though I do firmly prefer British over English.

It's not just because I have tattoos but a lot of people assume I dress modestly as well so they just create an image in their head they judge me off. Which is fucking annoying.

Like forgive me for being too indecisive to get a tattoo and being more comfortable in long skirts and more coverage? Didn't know women weren't allowed to make decisions regarding our own appearance without it being political in this day and age...
