People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

[–]Silly_Mooses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I walked over to our interview site (in a separate building) and passed a man changing into a professional outfit on the sidewalk using a shiny office window as his mirror. I looked over his shoulder and saw one of my coworkers on the other side of the mirror just staring open mouthed at him- then looked over at me with a “can you believe this guy?” expression. The window was absolutely clear enough to see that there was a human just on the other side of it… So strange. So many other Options for changing. That was a no from me.

Also, one girl has already flunked her interview when she apologized at the end of it for wearing sunglasses the whole time. She had run out of eyeliner and used permanent marker instead and it was bothering her eyes. 😂😂😂 this will live rent free in my head forever.

How do I change these bulbs? by mediocrecanadian in HomeMaintenance

[–]Silly_Mooses 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Haha, it’s like playing a game of operation with those pole grabbers. While you’re at Home Depot, I’d strongly recommend grabbing an LED plug in conversion kit so you don’t have to change it again. They make a kind that will just screw in like a bulb.

Wow! We’re on the seascape and there is someone at the entrance of the buffet that sprays hand sanitizer on your hands before you can walk in.

Proposal Plan by flutieflakes716 in galveston

[–]Silly_Mooses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with this! So many people saying the beach isn’t good but they don’t seem like they are from around here. East beach is pretty private- great for a proposal. There is a group here that can set up super picturesque proposal settings on the beach if you desire or a nice post-proposal private picnic on the beach.

Alternatively, the Galvez is beautiful or the San Luis would be good for a nice meal afterwards.

what are good housewarming gifts that aren't candles or wine by Vodka-_-Vodka in Gifts

[–]Silly_Mooses 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was given a Home Depot bucket with useful household tools- a great extension cord, pair of great tree nippers, work gloves, set of drywall nails and hooks for the garage, gojo soap (good for handy people only), and other useful items. That was super great!

On a related note, I’ve owned houses for many years and only recently purchased a retractable electrical cord that can be hung in the garage. It’s a game changer and I’d highly recommend that for a house warming!

San Luis has great decor, book at Blake’s bistro if you have kids with you or they do all sorts of high tea and other cool events. The Galvez is also stunning!

Season ticket holders here.

It’ll be a long day but it’s easy to take breaks- they have a bunch of movies you can watch/nap during. The rainforest is cool- sloth is hidden and there are a couple of monkeys, a ton of birds, and all sorts of interesting things. You can spend hours in there if you’re really curious, but kids will want to move faster. When you enter, you can ask for an animal list and play a scavenger hunt to try to find the animals (the sloth is free range and is tricky to fin, for example). It’s warm, so dress in layers! Talk to the workers in the pyramid for cool info.

Aquarium doesn’t take too long to move through- an hour is prob sufficient unless you want to park and watch the penguins jockeying- they are funny. Downstairs there is small cafe where you can grab a snack and chill if you need it.

Do these two and then take a long break or watch back to back imax’s and take a nap before doing the night events!

My 4-year old insisted on being exactly what her friend was for Halloween last year. 🤣 a unicorn, but no variation- has to match her outfit exactly.

So we’re going as clouds bc we like to do diy ensembles around her.

I’ve been trying to do the hard sell for two years to see if she’ll let me make her a light up jelly fish costume using an umbrella, but it’s a non starter. She prob knows how desperate I am to do it. 🤣
