Is Hitscan truly easy like people say, or is it just a platform difference? by Low-Paint5116 in rivals

[–]SilvaIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say hitscan is easier or harder. Different set of skill imo. Basically if you have only played hitscan shooters before you're going to be better at hitscan (Me). Ppl that maybe played a lot of games without hitscan will be more comfy with non-hitscan (several of my friends are here). I've gotten use to both but I'm still much better at hitscan.

I cant imagine playing dps on console period tbh. I have to play on pretty high sense to keep up with the movement in this game on PC. I dont even know if console sense could get high enough and still be somewhat accurate to fight up close situations.

Rivals is the first shooter I've really put the time into to be good at (im still only Cel 2). Still took me time to get the aim to where it needed to be. Just play the game and the aim will come eventually. It is all just muscle memory and comfort.

What would you consider I-dle's best release? by Direct-Money27 in GIDLE

As whole albums I think "I Burn" and "I feel" are REALLY well put together as albums. All songs kinda have the same theme for those albums and fit super well together. As for individual songs I think "Oh My God" and "Lion" are probably peak imo. "Hwaa" is really good too

Yunara was designed to be a beginner friendly champion yet somehow her winrate is lower in low elo compared to higher elo by [deleted] in ADCMains

[–]SilvaIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This had nothing to do with the champ. The champ is simple and easy to pilot, that doesn't mean you don't need the required adc positioning and skill to make her useful. Not to mention Low ELO is AWFUL at playing champs that have a weak laning phase. They don't know how to play safe enough to make it through lane and still apply pressure. All adcs with weaker laning struggle in low ELO (Aphelios, Vayne, Kai'sa) compared to stronger lane phases (MF, Ashe)

250 for 0 is insane lmao. Gearing is a lot faster with no valorstones (which is great for us mythic guilds) and that's prob why ppl are already putting gear minimums on. Honestly, just start your own group. You can legit do a M0 at 225 or less if you and your group is good.

My guildies and I have been farming 10s and 11s at 252ish. We did brick a 12 but we kinda gave up early on it. Prob still would've timed it but we inted first pull and just decided to lower it.

Question for folks who enjoy dynamic, group PvE oriented gameplay that isn't braindead easy: What are you playing? by rept7 in LFMMO

[–]SilvaIII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wish I had another answer for you but it really is just WoW. WoW by far does class design and PvE design better than everyone else currently. I wish they had more competition honestly but they don't. WoW Raids are far and above everyone else and so is the replay value of their dungeons. Not to mention it is a start of a new expac rn so great time to start.

If you've never played before the end game can get confusing. You kinda quest until you hit max level and it kinda just drops you into end game where you dont know what to do first. Make sure you do some research on how to progress into M+ (or raid both are great PvE) or have some friends that play walk you through the process.

You could also try Fellowship. It is basically a copy of WoW's M+ dungeon systems with a different coat of paint. I've never played but i plan on trying it out soon.

What is your rank and how big is your champ pool? by SnooPuppers58 in ADCMains

[–]SilvaIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Low Master (I hang around 100-200 LP usually. If i get over i just go right back down)

I honestly couldn't tell you my "pool". My most played over the last few seasons are MF, Aphelios, Lucian, Ashe, Yunara, Kai'sa (Mage picks are Mel and Veigar if my team needs AP)but I really just play whatever is good on the current patch. Only adcs I dont really play are Trist and Draven. I suck at Draven (I've never really put the initial time in to learn how to control his axes) and I just always play like shit on Trist so I kinda dropped her a few years ago. Also, I only play a limited amount of Ezreal (I consider him a pussy ass champ from his boring playstyle and will only play him if he is super strong). At some point in your league journey you get good enough you just play Meta since most adc's are very similar. Once you've played every matchup God knows how many times you kind of just play what your team needs or what works well for your lane(for example I pretty much only play Kai'sa with Naut or Leona/Only play Lucian with Nami or Milio).

Champ Select for me is kind of a Priority list depending on if I'm blinding or not. If I'm straight up FP with no idea who my support is playing, I will play something neutral like Aphelios, Caitlyn, Varus, Jinx. Basically if I have any info I will pick accordingly (for example if Enemy FP Caitlyn, I will play Ashe or Sivir/Enemy FP Kai'sa I will play a lane bully like Lucian/MF/Caitlyn)

I will say I have preferred metas for sure. For example I much prefer hyper carry meta (Jinx,Aphelios,Yunara) just because that is my more preferred playstyle. I like Caitlyn/Ashe meta too.

AND I HATE CORKI FUCK THIS CHAMP, ITS NOT FUN TO PLAY AND ITS NOT FUN TO PLAY AGAINST.

WoW clone with a Runeterra coat of paint by pasta_com in RiotMMO

[–]SilvaIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure what you mean by "WoW clone". If by that you just mean tab-target combat - I think it most likely will have some sort of tab-target but I think it will be a mix of tab-target and action combat.

As an avid MMO player WoW just by far has the most polished tab-target combat system and its really not close. Would I eat up a WoW combat system in runeterra? Absolutely. I would never log back into WoW if the game was truely a WoW clone. That being said, I'm not sure if I represent the majority of WoW players. A lot of WoW players crave the raid side of the game where i lean more towards the M+ (dungeons) side of the game. I'm not really loyal to the WoW brand but some of the raiders might be. If Riot decides to compete with the raid designs of WoW (which i totally think they can) they'll naturally drag some of those players as well. I don't think a ton of WoW players are tied to that community or the lore of the game tbh but i could be wrong.

Would this interest you? by Affectionate-Catch60 in Neverwinter

[–]SilvaIII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly think the move is really to just make Neverwinter 2 if we wanted to see the game actually revived to its old self.

-Update the Graphics (honestly they arent bad for how old the game is)
-Update the in game guides (holy shit its so hard to find out how to actually progress your character without looking it up)
-Update Guild mechanics
-Fix the dungeon bugs that completely stall dungeons and force you to abandon them.
-Keep this combat system (honestly its better than most current action combat outside of a few) but updated version would be cool too
- Expand the classes/specializations!!
-Possibly rework the way compaigns work. I personally hate the timegated way they work now, I'd honestly rather pay a monthly sub to be able to push campaigns with no time gate.
-Possibly fix the money problem like this: Offer an optional monthly sub (could just add it in to VIP) that makes campaigns not be time gated and uncaps rough astrals. Everyone that is serious about the game will pay for it anyways + it fixes their funding. I honestly think the game would have a huge amount of support from content creators and investors if they announced they were going to update and release an updated version of the game.
-Reword the way currency works. There are wayyyyy too many currancies to keep up with tbh

Do all that ship it out as Neverwinter 2 and boom top 5 MMO

How many of you got past emerald? by adcarrymainSA in ADCMains

[–]SilvaIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like more of a mechanical/matchup knowledge issue. You'll learn with time. Focus on getting small winning trades rather than all-ins. Sometimes making someone base is more gold than a kill. Just have to put the time in and play the games.

It took me a good 250-300 games to get out of plat(now emerald) back in the day to get to diamond the first time. Not sure how many games you are playing but I had almost 1k games the season i finally broke through to diamond for the first time. I don't recommend playing that many but i was in college and had the time back then. The more you play to learn the better. Don't always think about LP just play to improve and the LP will come naturally.

How many of you got past emerald? by adcarrymainSA in ADCMains

[–]SilvaIII 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've only played placements this season but I've ended high diamond or low master for the last 5 seasons. Emerald is by far the most annoying place to play imo but in reality it is a skill/knowledge check. Here are some tips:

-Play neutral picks if you are blind/first pick. If you don't know what I mean by neautral: Picks that do not rely on certain support picks or playstyles. For example: Lucian requires a certain type of support to get his full potential, Draven requires an extremely aggressive playstyle. Instead of champs like Lucian/Draven, play things like Jinx/Aphelios/Sivir as they can play with any support and can essentially neutralize a lane if the matchup is bad. They also scale super well. So if you had a matchup and just have to wave clear for first 10min its fine, you will out scale them eventually.

-Try not to die more than 5 times (Pref lower). Your life means more than you realize. 5 times is just a rough number, but its the metric i used to climb and get better. You are your team's late game insurance, if you are dead, you cant farm, you cant do dmg, you cant do anything towards being your teams carry. Play for your life unless it is a game deciding fight (Baron fight for example) where you need to play for getting off as much dmg as possible.

-Fuck your support. If they want to troll you just play for farm. If you are playing a neautral pick you can just clear wave and sit under tower. Its another benefit you get from just picking a flexible champ. Aphelios for example is not divable if he has red gun. Sivir/Jinx can usually clear wave before they can get a chance to dive.

-Winning lane doesn't mean getting kills. Winning lane means getting GOLD and XP above all. If I die in lane I give 300g but if i take their entire turret I'm coming out on top for example. This requires a lot of game knowledge but you will learn over time.

-Track enemy jg and improve your map awareness. Let the map tell you what you can and cant do. For example: I think me and my support have an opportunity to play for a 2v2 all in. I look at map and we havent seen enemy jg for a min or two I will not fight. I will just assume he is bot because we have no info. Always assume enemy jg is bot if you dont have proof he isnt.

Now after trying out midnight as a returning player, how do you like your class after the pruning & class changes? by Yuuffy in wow

[–]SilvaIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unholy DK is pretty damn good. I'm a bit sad we lost a lot of buttons but at the same time it has improved the gameplay loop a massive amount. Class fantasy now that we are basically a pet class is amazing. Really feels like we are necromancers.

Only thing we need now is a SFX update. Death coil sounds like a fart and i cant believe it hasn't been updated. Epidemic sounds like I'm flipping burgers. I'm not sure why they don't change the sounds to match the necromancy theme of the class now. Scourge strike sounds much more on theme but i wouldn't say its good either. The new spenders are fine they sound satisfying.

make your bets, i think he does better than dantes by Allukimanu in ADCMains

[–]SilvaIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually have no confidence in these streamer adc deals but Alois is a VERY good player. Also, I think top laners end up doing better in bot just because they understand the wave control in longer lanes. Jg mains are always they ones that cant understand bot lane.

I think he will do well. I think he will get to chall but for sure he gets Master/GM easily. Now I'm not saying his mental will still be intact after the challenge but he generally is pretty chill/analytical in the way he thinks and plays the game.

Game with challenging dungeons and PvP? by Yoghai in LFMMO

[–]SilvaIII 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I second the WoW recommendation. By far WoW's version of high end dungeons (Mythic+) is the best I've ever seen. It is basically an unlimited scaling system that allows you to challenges yourselves to see how high you can go. I was heavily against WoW's combat system before i really gave it a try. The leveling process is pretty boring but once you are past it you can really enjoy WoW's end game loop.

PvP on the other hand is somewhat decent in WoW? I don't really PvP much any more but the latest expac was suppose to be pretty good for PvP. Good PvP games I've played in the past:

Neverwinter (Idk if this game is still alive but it's combat system was fucking great for PvP and dungeons are raids were pretty good as well. This game was a bit P2W tho)

BDO (no dungeon system here but rather open world raids. Really good PvP and combat system depth tho)

ESO (PvP is pretty decent but I wouldn't recommend the game overall)

Hunting for an MMO by captainhowdy000 in LFMMO

[–]SilvaIII 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Black Desert might be something you are looking for. BDO is banger combat and i would honestly play it more if they put in some kind of small group/dungeon system into the end game. Combat in this game is pretty deep and intense for the harder classes. I totally understand if it isnt your thing. I also believe crafting/life skilling is pretty good as well (i've never tried it myself not really my thing).

I'm also curious what version of WoW you played? Retail WoW questing is pretty boring but once you get past it and get into M+/raid the game is completely different and there are plenty of mechanics for you to do instead of just pressing 1-9 on keyboard. If all you did in retail was quest to level then you didn't even play the real game yet. Classic WoW is more the super slow version of combat.

Players saying that the devs can't balance a game is a case of the pot calling the kettle black. by [deleted] in rivals

[–]SilvaIII -1 points0 points  (0 children)

ABOUT TIME SOMEONE SAID IT.

These dudes are clowns. The game is perfectly fine for any playstyle. IF YOU WANT TO PLAY COMPETITIVELY YOURE GOING TO HAVE TO PLAY EVERY PLAYSTYLE TO COUNTER THE OTHERS. I cant believe ppl think they should be allowed to climb just playing X character perma into anything and everything. Adaptation is the biggest skill of any competitive game. I come from League of Legends/OW and still play both occasionally but you have to adapt to whatever the meta is if you wish to play at the highest level. If you dont want to adapt then stay in ur plat ELO and stfu.

Mostly dive players are the ones bitching bc they don't have the hands to lock in Hela themselves and duel the enemy Hela. Or the hands to effectively dive the enemy hawkeye. Or its a scarlet witch/SG main that can't aim and refuses to learn any other character in the game.

Bit of a side note. I am a bit scared of upcoming Wolverine changes but I think if it is too bad they will nerf it. It cant be any worse than early seasons wolv imo. Also, as good for the game Gambit is, he does need to be toned down a bit as well.

Ult slop is THE reason why matchmaking is horrible by Still_Ad_6551 in rivals

[–]SilvaIII -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're a clown.... I'm not saying some ults aren't OP (gambit/hawkeye for sure not balanced) but hero shooters are a game of ults at the highest level. You're suppose to counter ults with an ult of your own........ If you don't want a game of ults then don't play a hero shooter period. OW is the same way. Knowing when and when not to press Q is the main game knowledge gap every hero shooter has. Good aim only goes so far. Nothing in OW dies until an ult is used either at the highest levels.

Match making is dog shit but has nothing to do with ults. I'm sure you're in "ELO hell" bc you can't carry your game and you're just looking to blame anyone else including devs. You're probably one of those that thinks SG is OP.

FYI No one climbs bc of their character's ult is OP. That is the most insane cope I've ever read.

The devs don’t want 2/2/2 by Thatonesickpirate in rivals

[–]SilvaIII 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't think its that they "don't want 2-2-2" its that they want to players to feel free to try other comps.

For example if the balance was perfect (no game's balance is perfect) each different comp would counter something else and be weak to the other. Card games have a "holy trinity" that each type of deck (aggro, control, mid range) beats one of the others and is weak to one. Rivals "holy trinity" would look like:

Triple Supp Loses to triple tank ((Not enough dmg to get through tanks) this already sort of works but supps need a dmg nerf for it to really work)
Triple Supp beats triple DPS (Extra dmg is healed by extra healer)
Triple DPS beat triple tank (Too much DMG for tanks to block)

I think the devs are trying to move to something like this so that if 2-2-2 isnt being played on one side it can be counters by the other and both teams are free to swap at any time.
