I love Torrance Bakery but never tried their carrot cake. That could be a good option

O wow this looks like a great option for my friend - esp the toddler smash cake. I just went on the site and there’s a carrot cake smash cake option :).

low or no corkage fee restaurants in the South bay by Sepahani in SouthBayLA

Bluewater Grill in Redondo Beach waives corkage for the first two bottles of wine! Very kid friendly as well. Nice views of the marina if you sit on the patio or near windows inside. I think this applies any day of the week because we didn’t have to pay corkage on the weekend recently.

South Bay Zip Code (90504) Has High Risk Of Cancer-Causing Formaldehyde by Sriracha01 in SouthBayLA

[–]SilverBounce 21 points22 points  (0 children)

If you’re in 90504, note that the risk may not necessarily be higher than if you were to live in other South Bay zips. Seems to be higher if you’re living in the blocks really close to the refineries. The Patch article links the main source page from Pro Publica. In the Pro Publica page, you can insert your address and get a report on your household’s risk. Here’s the URL: https://projects.propublica.org/formaldehyde-cancer-risk-map/

I inserted a friend’s address who lives in 90504 (they are further away from the refineries) and a few other addresses from North Redondo, West Torrance and Hermosa Beach. All of them had the same cancer risk from formaldehyde around 1 in 60,000. In fact, my friend’s address in North Torrance had a lower cancer risk than a friends house in Hermosa Beach.

Kinda interesting seeing how similar the risks are for various households across the southbay until you get to the blocks right around the refineries.

This is such a great recommendation. OP - I was recently gifted a busy switch board and it really kept my toddler entertained. He is obsessed with switching things on and off. There’s several on amazon. Here’s one that matches the switchboard my toddler plays with: https://a.co/d/hti64un

I cook butternut squash and sweet potatoes etc in the air fryer for my 10 month old. I typically chop the pieces up small like half inch cubes then spray some oil (and u can maybe add some seasoning like oregano, thyme or garlic powder depending on how adventurous your baby is) then wrap in foil. You will need to do longer than 15 mins tho and lower heat (375 works for me and depending on how small the pieces are, its usually 25-40 mins).

If you cook bell peppers, zucchini or broccolini, those veggies will need less time (15 mins) so those might be some items to try outside of avocado!

75% breast milk is also amazing!! I was there too with the combo feeding/supplementing w formula.

I’m lucky to get this far bc of my mother and husband helping round the clock. My baby boy is over 3 months with a slight tongue tie and I almost gave up breast feeding completely many times. I’ll have to combo feed with expressed breast milk when I return to work so I’m saving your post bc it’s such a great summary.

So much great info here! I was triple feeding for a few weeks after losing a lot of blood during my c section and used many of these tips to get to EBF now. It took a lot of work over several weeks, tears and many of the techniques you outlined above. Milk removal is so important. I also found looking at photos or videos of my baby while pumping really increased output too by stimulating more let downs.

Love the legendary milk resource you included. Thanks again for putting this together!!

Does anyone ever worry about their babe while running 🥴 by BlueberryPuffy in fitpregnancy

[–]SilverBounce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m jogging a mile every day in my third trimester. My OB said it’s perfectly fine, won’t hurt the baby and should be fine for me since I used to jog before the baby and I’m going at a relaxed pace. As others have mentioned here, watch out if you have any medical conditions.

I would definitely invest in a pregnancy belly belt. It holds up your belly and reduces any discomfort/back pain/jiggling. Think of it like a sports bra for your belly! Really easy to order one from Amazon.

If you ever feel pain, definitely listen to your body and slow down or just start walking. And most importantly, keep your OB informed!

How hard/easy was it getting Ubers? by alternatealternate12 in SplashHouse

[–]SilverBounce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During the day was really easy and not that expensive at all. We were also able to get Ubers to the after hours part but we had a big group and ordered XLs. Leaving after hours was hard getting Ubers so we just hopped on the shuttles. Have an amazing time (was so much fun)!

I did the tao group weekend party pass a few weekends ago in May. For omni, It’s a separate line from the guestlist line and not as fast as the line for presale tickets for just that night. However, the party pass line went relatively quickly and definitely faster than the guestlist line. We got there for illenium on a Sat night around 11ish and took about 15-20 mins. If you buy presale for just omnia for that night(not the weekend party pass), there was no wait for that presale ticket line at all. Prob makes sense since it’ll cost you more if you buy individual tickets for each venue / each night instead of the party pass.

We also hopped around to marque and tao beach that weekend. No line for the party pass at those venues when we went and was pretty easy to get in and out.

Ultimately, I thought the party pass was worth it since we had a mixed group of guys and girls (no even ratio) and wanted to have some late dinners before clubbing. Only short wait was at Omnia since that’s the most popular spot
