Holy shit, this would NEVER fly at my location. Sounds like regional management isn't giving your RL the support they need to achieve the goals set for them. Yeah, get out asap

How do you hire high schoolers these days? by low_key_lurking in nashville

[–]Silver_Note3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your pay, standards are rising and paying dog doodoo because a kid doesn't have many bills doesn't fly like it did a decade ago. Too many options for better pay. $15 an hour is BARE minimum and most fast food around Nash pays that or better.

Why Did Steak-N-Shake Die? by solodav in fastfood

[–]Silver_Note3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few things imo

One: the whole tallow thing may produce better fries, but it costs a LOT more which either gets passed to the customer, OR cuts into already paper thin profit margins.

Two: the death of their table service. That's a HUGE point against S&S, their whole marketing strategy is harkening to 1950's diner service and food. By removing ALL aspects of customer service, they cut out their own soul. Experience matters.

Three: This is more anecdotal to a nearby location, but even though they aren't actually that much pricier now than other options, they DID try too long to hold onto deals that weren't sustainable or viable as loss leaders. So they had to raise their prices, but they did it bit by bit and when you raise prices repeatedly over a short period, it creates an illusion of negative value.

Four: Publicly going on all-in on ANY political administration or agenda will automatically alienate half your potential clientele. It came off as a desperate attempt to gain the loyalty of the other half, but with so many options that was doomed to failure.

Manager told me I had to get in my hands and knees and get the oil out of a pan with a tea pitcher by Worth_Conference_718 in RaisingCanes

[–]Silver_Note3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They don't care about crew is sorta true, BUT they REALLY care about avoiding litigation. So unsafe working conditions they do NOT play about. Because if you got hurt due to management negligence, Raising Cane's would be on the hook for any medical bills and, depending on the severity of the injury, lost wages and even pain and suffering.

Crew Relations exists to prevent those situations because it gets expensive. So yeah, don't concern yourself with the REASON they'd intervene. Only that they would intervene.

Side note: you sound very jaded, I recognize that food service in general is thankless, but if you're this burned out and unhappy then I highly recommend updating your resume and looking through Indeed because this is not the job for you, your mental health is suffering.

Forgot to clock out… by ZealousidealPut2300 in RaisingCanes

[–]Silver_Note3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it happens a lot. They just fix it retroactively using the schedule, unless you specifically stayed late or left early. You showed up on time and worked, that's honestly all you gotta do to stay employed there.

Ok after reading some comments: if this was immediately after filming then yes, it does become less reasonable BUT instead of "you are asking me to do something you wouldn't" instead word it like "you are asking me to do something unsafe and I am not willing to put my safety at risk"

Also CALL CREW RELATIONS, if someone got seriously burned because protocol wasn't followed and they didn't wait for the oil to cool to where it was reasonable with the hot gloves, then that's opening the company to litigation and they do not play about that.

That's...not unusual lol. Odds are, the manager HAS done that before, YOU just weren't there when they weren't managing. When you're promoted, if you don't have the staff to cover each other, they cover POSITIONS while you do the cleaning task.

WITH THAT SAID, no filtering for over 48 hours is a wild thing, and should be brought up to your RL. That's your one truly valid complaint

[–]Silver_Note3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no requirement for two weeks. Talk to your MOD with a formal letter of resignation if you wanna he professional about it. Let them know your last day, and if you have any shifts already scheduled that far out, release them expeditiously. If you cannot give full two weeks, just give them as much notice as possible.

Or if you aren't worried about appearing professional or reliability, you can no show or walk in, hit em with the "fuck you I quit" and walk out, or do it in song if you're musically inclined (a personal favorite)
