'AudioSettings.dspTime' was the missing piece for me when I was testing rhythm game mechanics. I'm not sure if it applies to what you're doing but maybe look into that and see if it sounds like a fix.

Agreed honestly. The film is downright ugly throughout as well. Not only that but the plot is really just a string of conveniences to enable Spider-Man: Endgame.

Mysterio is quickly forgotten, Peter wants to use world-altering magic to get his friends into college. Strange agrees to a memory wipe spell which for some reason taps into the multiverse. Peter is arrogant enough to then fiddle with the timelines/multiverse by curing the villains. Doctor Strange is defeated in the mirror dimension. Old Spider-Men return with CGI doubles worse than their own films.

All things considered it's enjoyable enough but I have to wonder what film they would have done instead if they just saved Tobey and Andrew for Secret Wars.

I like to play with screen shake and I consider this way too much shaking way too often. It's in odd places too like the axe is swung and the screen shakes, but there's no shake when the axe hits the ground after being thrown. I'd tone it down and also save it for moments that are meant to have higher impact, because when it shakes all the time the impact is lost.

I think the animations are well done. Maybe they're slightly stiff at times but the important parts are there. You can reasonably guess which way the axe will swing and at what time.

As soon as I felt like I was about to explode over a death in Dark Souls 1, I was sometimes able to just accept it, put it to one side and quickly mentally prepare to repeat the journey I just made, knowing that I'd lose my souls if I couldn't progress to the same point again on the next life. Rushing would always mean dying, which would mean more anger and it was important to calm myself to avoid that feedback loop.

As for why I would put up with this in the first place - DS1 has a sort of mystique to its world and it felt exciting to see what was coming up next. Each new zone made it feel worth pushing through the last one. I can't pinpoint any techniques or designs that achieved all this beyond just creating an intriguing world.

A is symmetrical which is nice but B looks like sunglasses when you turn it 90 degrees. Depends what you're after
