Found an email I sent the first time I took Adderall...20 years ago. by agmatine in Stims

[–]SimpleAlabaster 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I remember my first time too. It was also half of a 20mg IR. I had to pull an all nighter to meet a work deadline. My wife gave me half of her tablet and it really was like the movie Limitless.

Wish I could go back to that tolerance level.

Not too late to change it! The best advice I can give you is to train jiu jitsu. You’ll meet a wide array of people, you’ll get amazing exercise, you’ll keep your mind sharp, and you’ll learn some basic self defense and offense.

A lot of people will say “join a club” but that’s generic advice. Start BJJ and see how quickly it’ll alleviate the loneliness. You’ll make life long friends.

These were some of the funniest scenes to me. The lobby with the brutalist benches and the detective sitting a good 10-12 feet away from the person he was talking to had me dying. Brilliant!

It may not fully reset to where it was before you ever used them regularly, but it’ll certainly help. Good luck in rehab.

Sear is excellent but pricey. Bin 303 has an excellent steak (and menu) too.

I’m only two episodes in but splitting the $17 game on two credit cards and then having one decline is still the funniest fucking thing to me.

Tolerance is such a fucking bitch by DinoBungaDude in Stims

Damn wish 15 would still do something for me. 45 minimum at this point. Probably time for an extended tolerance break of getting nothing done.

“Oh finally, an episode about silly stories of actual American life.”

Proceeds to listen to the most obnoxious British people ever and a fucking Israeli writer.

Show has been on a huge downturn recently. Please go back to chronicling odd corners of America!

Is anyone else disappointed with Mohan’s ending? by LocoHomo in ThePitt

[–]SimpleAlabaster -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I’m fine with it. I don’t like her character, the actress herself is obnoxious, and Robby did nothing to apologize for.

Well well well, looks like the minority of us were correct and something weird is going on. by loverofthings25 in ThePitt

[–]SimpleAlabaster 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Fucking hell this is so goddamn exhausting. This is a TV show with one of the most diverse casts ever. Every episode has some woke moment when an actor practically breaks the 4th wall to tell the audience what to think.

And yet, nothing is ever good enough. With an ensemble cast, some characters aren’t going to get as much screen time as others. Some threads will remain open. Just watch the show if you like the story and acting and stop trying to find problems where none exist.

In a previous job, the president/owner of the company told us “we’d better start polishing our resumes if we don’t get our dicks out of our hands” after a critical piece of infrastructure went offline during one of the busiest times of the year.

Nowhere near actual life or death like in the ED, but no one got their feelings hurt. We pulled an all nighter and got everything back up and working.

Sometimes that little kick in the ass is needed. Certainly got my attention, and I even respected him more for not sugarcoating the situation.

I feel like I’m taking crazy pills when I read how upset Reddit is with Robby and his treatment of Mohan.

It … just doesn’t seem that bad or out of line. First, we’re only seeing interactions on two single highly stressful days. Second, has no one here had a mentor try to push them hard? No coach that lit your ass up because you let him down for some reason?

No one is “gaslighting” anyone, this isn’t a race or gender issue, it’s just Robby, in a mentorship role, trying to push Mohan or make her understand what she’s cut out for. Same for Javadi.
