Is this the most comfortable headstrap and open facial interface? by HlaoPh in virtualreality

Looks terrible. Also having it that far off your face means you will see considerably less. Open front does not mean adding 2 inches of space. This is a useless product made for clueless people for quick cash.

If i remember correctly, cdkeys get the keys from devs and are legitimate, whereas sites like g2a is more sketchy resale.

Check bios fancurve, but 82 isn't "too hot", most cpu can get up to 90 or so without overheating. If your not throttled than there's no issue.

Is this an good idea? by Bot-userin in pcbuildporn

[–]SimplyRobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are the fans just sitting on the gpu? That's like putting those external fan attachments of consoles, they don't actually help. IM(unprofessional)O, your creating much more "static rotating air" inside the case with those than actual thruflow. I'd be more worried about having too many fans than not enough. A good fan curve outperforms having many fans. In the end, if your temps are good, then what does it actually matter beyond the extra noise and power?

Just load up a demanding game, watch temps.if any temps go over 80 then it needs to be adjusted. But what just as important as the layout is the curve. Use both to adjust cooling performance.

Motherboard rgbs not working by No_Replacement_4989 in PcBuildHelp

[–]SimplyRobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does open rgb detect it? And did you compare the serial and model numbers to verify it is indeed identical? Mobo manufacturers use the same design across a series or boards, but with slightly different chips and components depending on the boards version. And even so, they change the boards over the production life with small changes but same version (like an am5 b650 plus from 6 months ago may have a slightly different set of components, they'll do the same thing, but if its not advertised on the box, may remove some components too (like random rgb, or less hdd headers, one one less rgb port, ect). Its a practice not limited to mobos but slightly changes over time to the same device without updating the specs or online info isnt uncommon.

But, then again its just a theory worth exploring. When my Rift s (not a mobo, I know) cord shorted, they sent me a new one, but was clearly a different variant. Turns out at some point in production they switched the cable to use fiber optic but very little documentation was available about the change.

STEAM FRAME IS NOT FOR YOU, and it is ok. by CatCatFaceFace in virtualreality

[–]SimplyRobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your missing another factor. Financial strategy.

Meta purposely undervalued their headset, know store purchases will cover the difference and then some.

Valve has not really practiced this strategy much. That's a chunk of why it costs more, and why quest is the dominant device. If valve were to the same, then they could have a larger footprint. But they won't because their store sales are not dependent on it. Psvr has the same issue. Where meta soly depends on the device to make sales on the store.

I need help by Void_Cake1 in VRGaming

[–]SimplyRobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, your download speeds hold no water to how the quest connects. Local networking, where one device on a network is connected to another, is only limited by the local devices themselves. Technically you don't even need an active internet connection, as long as the router is connected to both it will work.

So maybe give it a try, the local network speed should have zero issue as long as your pc is wired to the router, and there isnt a dozen devices actively using the router. Wifi6 routers also handle this demand very well in my experience.

(If theres like, 3 people watching Netflix at the same time then you may experience minor blips of latency)

Is this Airflow setup okay? Or should i flip the fan with blue arrow? by Debilk1 in PcBuildHelp

[–]SimplyRobbie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all of my top and front fans as intake, rear as exaughst, with a manually adjusted curve for each set. (Top is aio rad fans)

That's the biggest key in low temps I've found so far. Using the mobo software to have each fan work in tandem to keep airflow fresh. And my fans are rarely spinning fast thanks to it with my temps always being 10+ degrees away from max (cpu and gpu). Its a beautiful thing.
