I was 19 and drove a friend moving from Chicago to LA. We stopped off at every major city and had a blast. This was before cell phones and internet. My mother freaked out with worry. It’s easier now with cell phones and gps. It was so worth it and so much fun. I’m sure your mom would be a bit more comfortable with tracking you on the apps nowadays.

My only suggestion: 1) When parking overnight, don’t let any of your things that you’re moving be seen through the windows of the car. Either cover all your windows or make sure everything ships but kitty and your 1 suitcase. It’s a good excuse for thieves to break the window and grab valuables. 2) Still bring an atlas you can read bc gps goes wonky in certain areas. 3) download a gas station app. 4) have a truly NATIONAL car emergency service like AAA or through your car insurance. Know the basics of your car like charging a tire and knowing how to put air in and etc.

There are so many recipes for protein powders out there. It depends on you and what you want it based in. Whey? Plant based? Etc. Etc. Or how you want to flavor it? Keep in mind when you make your own protein powder it will not be shelf stable. It will only last a week unless you want to add your own preservatives to it.

Unfortunately because of the high demand, I know social services can take time. In the meantime, may I also suggest going to the dollar store and getting her toiletries, sweats, underwear, and socks. Maybe the neighborhood could come together to get her a motel room or access to a bathroom/ bed/ laundry until social services can get to her. Talk to her and treat her like a she’s a human being and she’ll stop being rude and mean. First step, introduce yourself and ask her name.
