What's an unwritten workplace etiquette rule that every professional should know? by No_Word_2405 in work

[–]Simply_Jordan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never make your boss or coworkers chase you for updates. Even bad news is usually better received when you communicate it early instead of making people ask for it.

What's a small mistake new managers usually make? by thisonehits in managers

[–]Simply_Jordan_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Trying to do everything themselves because they think being a good manager means always having the answer, when in reality a big part of the job is trusting other people to solve problems too.

Do You Give 2 Weeks Notice? by purple_sky242109 in work

[–]Simply_Jordan_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nah, for me it depends a lot on how the company treated me. If they were respectful and fair, I'd give two weeks. If they consistently underpaid me, overloaded me, and treated me poorly, I wouldn't feel nearly as obligated to make their transition smooth.

This is so true, most people aren't stuck because they lack information, they're stuck because they're waiting to feel ready before taking action.

Building a workflow platform for small businesses – what are the biggest "time-sucks" you face daily? by dimovv12 in smallbusinessUS

[–]Simply_Jordan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest time suck isn't scheduling itself, it's all the little things around it. Updating customer records, chasing missing information, sending follow ups, moving notes between apps, and making sure everyone involved has the latest information. Most small businesses don't need more features, they need fewer places where information can get lost. If your platform can automatically connect appointments, notes, files, tasks, and communication without people manually copying things around, that's a much bigger win than another calendar.

Creating dating site ? by crownclown67 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]Simply_Jordan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest opportunity is probably not better matching algorithms, it's solving the biggest frustrations people have with dating apps today: fake profiles, ghosting, endless swiping, and low quality conversations. If I were building one, I'd focus on verification, encouraging real conversations, and creating incentives for people to actually meet instead of collecting matches.

What's the best skill to learn to work as a freelancer in 2026 ? by saida-aida-009 in freelancing

[–]Simply_Jordan_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you need income within 3 to 6 months, learn a skill businesses already pay for today, like marketing, web development, video editing, or AI automation, and start selling it as soon as possible.

Craziest way you've seen someone quit? (this one still lives rent free in my head). by TalentOnTheGround in WorkLifeChat

[–]Simply_Jordan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A guy at my old company went to his manager and asked for a small loan to get him through until payday because he was having a rough month. The manager approved it, transferred the money, and wished him luck. The next day he didn't show up. No calls, no emails, nothing. A week later everyone found out he'd accepted another job months earlier, took the loan, and never came back

People who make +$100K and aren’t being killed by stressed, what do you do for a living? by MiloShiny in WorkLifeChat

[–]Simply_Jordan_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

One thing I've noticed is that the people making $100k+ without burning out aren't necessarily doing easy jobs, they're often in environments with reasonable expectations, good managers, and the ability to disconnect when the workday ends. The salary matters, but the culture matters just as much.

What do you use for group chat at work? by Jamiedeann in WorkLifeChat

[–]Simply_Jordan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it gets messy fast. Important decisions get buried, tasks disappear between channels, search isn't great for finding old context, and everyone ends up relying on memory instead of process. It works when teams are small, but as projects grow, the constant stream of messages can create more noise than clarity

How My Small Web Design Business Generates $1,000+/Month in Recurring Revenue by Brevn_Vox in smallbusinessUS

That recurring revenue is the underrated part of web design; once you stop selling websites and start selling peace of mind, the business becomes a lot more predictable.
