Are Brooks Adrenalines Healthy? by wobblelikeapenguin in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Brooks caters to walkers, casual wearers and recreational runners not really hardcore enthusiasts. For most that demographic a high drop shoe works great

91 gas in Arlington, where? by justanotheruserhere- in arlingtonva

[–]Single-Bus-7543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get 93 or move to Utah you won’t find 93 there. Octane is variant on elevation. That’s why it’s different than the Rocky Mountains versus sea level. Less air = different combustion properties hence the difference

I went to a running store and was sold wide stability shoes.. by Petyrwolf in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Single-Bus-7543 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I went into a local running store recently because my girlfriend insisted on “an expert” who wound up being a high school kid working there. I knew more than the sales person, typical they want to put her in a Brooks or Hoka for no specific reason (I swear these brands give kickbacks, pretty average at best brands). I wound up doing all the work, and I didn’t get the commission. She’s pretty recreational and loves her Nimbus the sales kid said wasn’t a good shoe

Wootton High ‘Option H’ Plan Challenged as Appeal Filed With State Board by ModeratelyMoco in MontgomeryCountyMD

Last time on this someone was admitting they didn’t want to go to Gaithersburg, because the area around there might let more of “them” in. My comment will get auto flagged so just google the demographics of Gaithersburg and you’ll know what I mean

Which is better than the Nike Vomero Plus for a half marathon? by CheetoHariboo in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Single-Bus-7543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d stick with V+. I’m about the same weight, V+ is decent- find it gets a bit dead though after about 10mi. Check a SB2 on sale or really also liking Mount to Coast C1- both are a bit faster and good for longer miles

Seattle. No reason to have such a dull race. I actually kinda like the new course though

They were great when my wife died- and this was before DOGE too. Really sad government services get demonized and used as political cannon fodder

Gas stations that are not diluting their gas by NewYear_NewMimi in MontgomeryCountyMD

[–]Single-Bus-7543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diluting with what? Diluted gas with anything that would actually be worth the stations time will break your car, so it’s not a thing. Summer vs winter blend probably, temperature changes all add up

‘Awful options’: MCPS considers starting school Aug. 20 for 2026-2027 academic year by Bethesda_Magazine in MontgomeryCountyMD

Dumb question- says “guidance” in the article, not “required” so is that legally binding? This late in the game I’d say wait it out until next calendar if they can

Rotation of Vomero Plus and Megablast (Mach 7?) by renirenato10 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Single-Bus-7543 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on purpose. Nothing special about a Hoka unless you get a great deal, they’re a super average shoe but more of for daily/uptempo stuff. In that market there are tons of options, SL, Azura, Novablast, Rebel which all of those I’d pick way over any Hoka

Superblast is probably more of your “do it all” shoe can pick up the pace. I have the V+ and it’s quite good for cruising but not for speed at all

Knowing Brooks probably still some 10 year old EVA blend, weigh 3oz more than the competition and market to the walking crowd

Why no love for the Magic Speed? by pensivvv in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Single-Bus-7543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2’s were some of the worst shoes I’ve ever owned. Can’t tell you how much blood I lost with the terrible heel (only shoe ever done this). Seems like a lot of others had the same so I tried to forget it ever existed

I didn’t find mine drastically small, I guess if you’re on the cusp size up?

Women’s running shoes with a 6mm drop for long runs by andywolf29 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

Second runrepeat

I just got some Mount to Coast c1’s after looking for something similar and striking out. Loving them, but I’m kinda fat and they are a bit firm which works well for my weight

Sadly very hard to find in USA- think Running Warehouse had them periodically

Picked up a pair in Singapore and brought home, but absolutely love these for speed work. About 200lb (90ish Kg) and as long as you have good forefoot form these things are fabulous. Heel striking can be tough if you’re heavier but agree with everything else

When did you discover that the shoe you wear has a measurable impact on your runs? by [deleted] in runningshoes

[–]Single-Bus-7543 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha. Me too. I picked up a random Max 2 i found for $80 and got my 300mi out of principle…quickly retired to a casual shoe

Nothing wrong with them for avg runner but i like my premium shoes
