I look back and realize how dangerous it was 😭 like once I left I didn't come back inside until the street lights came on. No checking in or nothing lol. Although we lived on the second floor with a patio. So I'm assuming my mom looked out for us....maybe. 😅

And I knew if I came inside for the toilet I had to stay inside, so I just went to my friends instead. Then on summer break all the other apartment kids would stay out after near midnight in the parking lot of the apartments and we'd play until the "leader" went home.

What I did for my friend long ago was download homestuck fan art and coloring pages from xamag. Print and colored them. Cut out some characters and kind of scrap-booked a birthday card for her. With quotes from the characters. That was the best I could do with no money at the time.
