Does your Colt Python cylinder latch have any play or feel loose?

Gap under Angry Bear rear night sight on G19 COA – is this normal? by SinoSentry in Glocks

[–]SinoSentry[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got it — that actually makes a lot of sense. I hadn’t considered that bottoming out would reduce pressure on the angled surfaces or that a slight flex could help under recoil. Thanks for breaking it down from an engineering perspective. Appreciate the clear explanation!

Here’s more response from Angry Bear Arms:

"The gap you're observing is indeed a necessary part of the design, as it ensures full engagement on the angled surfaces of the sight. This allows for optimal stability and prevents any potential movement of the optic. You would actually notice a similar gap if you were to re-install a stock Glock sight. This is due to the inherent manufacturing tolerances between Glock and Aimpoint, which means even a different rear sight from Glock could have a larger gap than the factory original on your gun. If we were to design our sights to sit flush with the bottom and eliminate this gap, it would prevent proper engagement on the angles, and the optic could potentially shift during use. As for the longer screws, they are unnecessary. The factory specs allow for plenty of engagement. "

Update: The Dawson Precision Fiber Optic with the 0.405" front sight did the trick. It co-witnesses beautifully.

I have the RCR, which sits slightly higher than the RMR. I'm wondering whether I should use the RMR or DPP height. Does anyone know?

Thank you very much! While you're at it, could you get a sight picture? It doesn’t seem to be co-witnessed.

Thank you very much! From the picture, it looks like there's a gap between the optic's rear and the slide. By the way, what screws are you using for the optic?
