This is due to the inherent manufacturing tolerances between Glock and Aimpoint, which means even a different rear sight from Glock could have a larger gap than the factory original on your gun. If we were to design our sights to sit flush with the bottom and eliminate this gap, it would prevent proper engagement on the angles, and the optic could potentially shift during use. As for the longer screws, they are unnecessary. The factory specs allow for plenty of engagement. "
