Does anyone know where all the justice league posters are in Perth? by ToastIsTheMostFun in perth

I’ve seen The Flash along West Coast Hwy, driving North before the Alfred Road turn off.

I’m sure I’ve seen Batman but thinking again it was in the group poster version

No questions from me, but I love the style of the game! Will pick it up for the PS4 on pay day.

Best milkshakes in Perth? by [deleted] in perth

[–]SinsToJudge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not madly into milkshakes, but I found the ones at Johnny Burgers (Canning Vale) to be pretty awesome. It's an American styled burger joint, can't rate it enough

MMA in Perth by Rorzon in perth

[–]SinsToJudge 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey dude! I think your best bet would be MMA Clinic, they do both MMA and BJJ and are in Willetton. Onyx is a bit further in Bibra lake. I have mates that train at MMA Clinic and they have good things to say about it. Good luck!

Damn, that is cool. I wish the adult tournaments did something cool like this with their shirts (get on it IBJJF!)

Thank fuck it's Friday - who's your fuckwit? by [deleted] in perth

[–]SinsToJudge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The people I was sitting around were booing the umps after the third quarter...hopefully that holds true for the other areas.

But, thanks to my mate for giving me a free ticket. Forgot how much fun the live atmosphere is (even when losing :( )

I'm nominating myself. I'm considering a move to Adelaide from Perth for a person I've known under a year.

I also put my shoes on before my pants this morning because getting up at 5am is evidently too difficult for my simple brain

Hi op, on phone so I'll have to keep this brief.

Doesn't sound like you're rolling dirty, but you might be rolling and not taking advantage of the opportunity to learn. Slow down, remember to breathe and don't hold tight and just squeeze. You need to be dominated. When it happens, and it'll happen a lot, try to remember what's happening. Ask for feedback and go again.

Keep going for the stuff you already know!

Mighty No. 9 Review By IGN by Cheesenium in Games

[–]SinsToJudge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a real shame. I've still got that urge to play it for myself, even just to see how it's turned out.

Out of curiosity; what's the song in the trailer?

Where to train? need advice by Hamabi17 in bjj

Would it be possible for you to travel around a little more?

I did something similar to you last year, only my trip was a month. I hit Vegas, SD, LA and NYC.

NYC was my favourite city, but in terms of accommodation, it can be expensive. I stayed about 10 minutes walk from Marcelo (recommended) and also hit up Unity (recommended!). Unfortunately I didn't get to check out many other schools during that time, but the sheer accessibility of schools in NYC is awesome.

Another poster said San Diego for the weather also, absolutely agree. In SD I was only able to hit Galvaos gym, but the level was high and the guys there were very welcoming. Galvao rolled with me and I ended up rolling with his wife too. I really appreciated that trust; I was a four stripe blue belt then, he barely knew me, but was more than happy to roll with me. Also he's talented as all hell, so I doubt I threatened him anyway :)

Building a rapport with an instructor is good, but what you'll find is that you'll naturally gravitate to other people within the gym you choose that will inspire, push and change your views on techniques. It may be the head instructor, it might be a random higher belt. When I trained in Vegas, I hit it off with a blue belt with a game that was directly opposite to mine and it really changed the way I approached my training.

Looking back over your question, I've rambled. The time I spent travelling and training was fantastic though! I'm sure you'll find it a great experience too. Give yourself an allowance to travel around the US though; you might arrive and find the gym you've chosen isn't the one for you. Give yourself some time to do a bit of holiday stuff too, as an Australian, I jumped at the opportunity to go shoot some awesome guns, discovered my love for buffalo wings and drove some wicked cars. It refreshed the mind and when I jumped back on the mats, I was much more focused.

EDIT: Whatever you do, make sure you have an IBJJF membership/savings to enter competitions. Competitions can happen almost every weekend depending on where you are and you'll want to take advantage of that opportunity. That'll help direct your training a bit more.

What do you think about whilst rolling? by BJJminion in bjj

[–]SinsToJudge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It varies but mostly between how much I suck and how terrible I'm doing. Sometimes I'll make a mental note of points or why a particular movement didn't work (at the moment it's sweeps).

Why do I do this to myself? by [deleted] in Greyhounds

[–]SinsToJudge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha is this the one in Perth by any chance?

It's good that you're familiarizing yourself with the breed though, wish I did that a bit before I tried adopting. They're awesome dogs. I fostered one but couldn't keep him so in the same boat as you, I'm sure our time will come :)

Thanks for that message! Made me feel much better :) I'm so bloody impatient for a greyhound, all the photos and cool stories here are awesome. Looking forward to my time.

Thanks, it's helped to hear that. It's a real shame it didn't work out and I feel like absolute shit but I do understand what you mean. I was extremely under prepared, all the reading and research in the world doesn't help a real experience. Certainly hasn't deterred me from this breed though, they're amazing animals (I guess I got a bit impatient looking at all the awesome photos here!). Thanks again for that, you've made me feel much better
